I know shit about amps. (Stereo rig/laptop/Sunn content)
Well, maybe a little more than shit, but am hoping for some opinions and ideas.
I have a small Acoustic rig (B200h and 115) that I have been using for bass and guitar - both direct in, and out from my interface while running Ableton on my laptop. I just picked up some sweet Sunn 412s and would like to run the lot together, but have some issues figuring out the rig in my head.
The Sunns sound KILLER with the Acoustic head, but for where I am playing it's just too loud. I have been looking at small watt tube heads as an option, but that wouldn't solve my other problem: running the signal out of the interface and into the head kills the stereo capabilities I have within Ableton.
What I would like to do is split my signal into the 2 412s as a L&R stereo channel, and a mono channel out to the Acoustic and 115. That way I can use an octaver on the 115 for teh heavies, and position the Sunns apart for teh gazey-swirlies.
Could I just run the interface into a power amp and then into the Sunn stacks? Would that give me the separate left and right channels? Would a powered mixer be a better solution? Or? Besides just buying 2 more heads, WHAT OTHER AWESOME THINGS AM I MISSING?

Which interface are you using, can it do three outs??? I would check for a powered PA mixer, either mixer style or old Peavey head style... Some of them will let you pan inputs to separate outs... I have an old Sunn powered mixer that would work but you'll have to search for those...

I'm using the Native Instruments Komplete Audio 6 which has 4 outs. I haven't tried running all 4 out, but the thing has been so solid otherwise I don't anticipate many problems.
I have been searching around for the pa head which matches my columns (I'm looking at you Whiskey_face!) but nothing as yet, and info on that unit is spotty enough that I'm not sure I could get that to run in true stereo either. Still, mojos.

Ok, I think I might have found some mojos that will work for me, but until the deal is sealed I want to keep my cards close.
Buuuuuuuut... the unit manual says this:

My cabs are rated 160w/8ohms each - does the above mean that I'm good to go to run a cab L and R, or would I be running a 4ohm overload total on the head?

Also - If I'm reading this right and I'm pushing 50w into the 160w cabs and that's a good thing since I need to be quieter playing where I am playing.

Yes you can run that mixer with the two 8 Ohm speakers no problem. You can't run four 8 Ohm cabs off it though, you'd need four 16s if you were running four.
