Re: The Doom Room: ILF Edition
My best friend had a Saab in our early 20s. We did so much illegal shit in that car, including losing my mind while frying and listening to Sabbath. Tell me people am I going insane...
Do people still do acid? It was pretty rampant in the early-mid 90s but I don't hear people talk about it much these days. Maybe I'm just old.

Yes they do it's just less visible than pot or mushrooms due to the fact that most states have a five years per hit prison sentence for just possession.Harry_Manback wrote:My best friend had a Saab in our early 20s. I kinda miss the occasional dose. But who has that much time nowadays.
the last few times I tripped out I got bored and wanted to come down so I could go to sleep.

Not good stuff then ^^ I wonder if the whole family thing is still going on, used to score books at dead shows and then further fests. I remember splitting a vial with my dude, wild night. We thought we were committing mental suicide but we both were fine afterwards, bummer. I could deal with not seeing the real world ever again. NOT SUICIDAL, just tired.

It's the Alan Watts metaphor--you can pick up the telephone and have a great conversation, it's knowing when to hang up that's the key.
And yeah, that's a lot of free time I don't have.

Conk, that creepy talking was the perfect thing to start the drone. My amp would pick up random stuff when I lived in Charlotte - usually garbled nonsense, but one day it came in very clearly and was some guy talking about not letting shit get to you. I was having a crap day, so sat there and listened to it for awhile before proceeding with the heavies. Dude was right, things got better after some riffsconky wrote:When I was younger the first amp I had was a Peavey Express 112 and I could always pick up the big truckers CB traffic when they would pass by the house. I don't know what satellite frequencies are, but I'm wondering if the talking at the beginning of the track I recorded wasn't a movie or something. I know a few people in the area of our space have ham radios and stuff but I'm not sure what the source the talking was on that I picked up somehow. It was definitely creepy as fuck though now when I listen back to it. " God help us all... In the name of the Father... Are we a threat to you?" I wonder what they were talking about.

Saab is owned by the Chinese now? You're a parts guy for a Saab dealer? I seriously do not envy the task you have been given, especially if you have to deal with Saab owners...Ancient Astronaught wrote:Do it! Fucking sleep last night was awesome. Period. Riffage nirvana. One piece of merch was a pillowcase( get it sleep, pillowcase.) Couldn't bring myself to pay $30 for a pillowcase, but still cool. Bought a shirt and a sleep volume 2 vinyl. I'm still riding high. Most pot smoke I think I ever experienced at a show. Probably had something to do with the fact that it's now legal. Just a guess. My only complaint is that pike wore a wife beater the entire show, but that's only a minor complaint.
