The Meat Bawl is a recreation of the classic Meatball auto wah / envelope follower
This pedal features a wide range of controls over the filtered sound
Notable famous folks who use/used the Meatball are Kevin Shields, Billy Corgan, The Edge, Ed O'Brien and more
My Meat Bawl is build in a Hammond Aluminium ‘Stomp Box’ Enclosure 1590XX (145 x 121 x 39mm)
Currently the Meat Bawl has the following controls
Top Edge:
Input - guitar input jack; connect guitar or output of another effect
Output - connect to amplifier or input of another effect
FX Loop Send - connect the input of another effect here, to be inserted after the envelope and before the filter of the effect.
FX Loop Return - connect the output of another effect here, to be inserted after the envelope and before the filter of the effect.
DC Jack - 2.1mm barrel, tip negative 9v DC supply (Boss standard).
Main Panel switches
Footswitch - Bypasses the effect (and anything in the loop). Red Status LED indicates effect on/off, Green Status LED represents activity of the envelope
Trigger - 3 position rotary switch offering Full or Half bandwidth filter triggering, or off setting for static Wah sounds
Filter direction - 2 position rotary switch with Up or Down position to designate the sweep from low to high / high to low pitch
Range - Lo to Hi 4-position rotary switch changes the frequency bands that the filter sweeps
Filter - 3 position rotary switch for High Pass / Band Pass / Low Pass filter
Main Panel knobs
Sens. - Adjust the input sensitivity required to trigger the filter (how hard you need to pluck guitar string to activate the envelope)
Attack - Adjust the attack of the envelope; think of this as a delay between hitting a note and the filter beginning to open
Decay - Adjust the decay of the envelope, or how long it takes for the filter to sweep back to its starting point
*note- Attack and Decay are interactive
Colour - Adjusts the resonance of the filter
Intens - intensity control to change the depth of the filtering
Blend - Mixes the clean tone with your filtered sound
My reproduction currently does not include the pedal controls of the original units.
