Just the myraid of shit I have been through the last 6 months of my life. Between trying to have kids, fracturing my wrist and an ever steady growing pile of bills I really did not have the time or the drive to sit and play. On days off I would marathon game and try to ignore everything, I slowly realized again that if I don't play/listen music I find it has LARGE negative impacts on my life.
I also got an Irig that I can just plug my bass into my phone and it is nice to get some amplification without having my dog go completely insane. I will probably liquidate the rest of my gear and have a solo set up at home with just a few pedals and a Direct Audio Input into my computer.
I keep going back and forth though, right now Christmas is two weeks away and I am just looking forward to finishing up my presents and spending time with my wife and my family.

I'm having trouble figuring out how to get it all plugged in and on my pedalboard. I make my own cables and I use those pancake plugs, but with everything top-mounted, I can't fit the plugs and the power plug all on top of the pedal.

Anyone have any ideas?
+1 see this is exactly what I mean, the real world is real, and stuff.

That's why I get annoyed when I see people screaming at pedal-makers that EVERYthing should ALWAYS be top-mounted. It makes it a bitch for those of us who don't use George L's, which I refuse to ever waste my time using again.

Are you talking about all your top-mounted pedals or just the Elements?
As stupid as it sounds, some of the pancake plugs (depending on the manufacturer) have slightly different tolerances in size. Not much, but I suppose it can make a difference.

The Elements is the only pedal I own that has both audio jacks and the power jack all top-mounted. Everything else either has the audio jacks side-mounted, or the power jack on one of the sides.
I always use pancake jacks and use/make top-mounted pedals. It's never been a problem for my board, so maybe you got particularly wide pancakes?
I got mine from Mammoth Electronics and so far they've worked with every pedal. Including the Elements. Are the I/O/power jacks laid out any different from the old to new models?

I used the GLS Audio pancakes for both of my pedalboards. I'm not sure if they're any different from any other pancake jacks, but this is the first pedal where it's been a problem. But it's also the first pedal that had all of the jacks on top.
I have no idea what the different models of the Elements are like, but all 3 jacks are in line together, and I just can't get all 3 plugs to fit together.
