Top Mounted Spaghettio Jacks???

Post by sonidero »

A company tries to pay respect with their logo and people freak out... Are we just overly concerned with being PC even when there is no reason??? Joan Rivers makes a joke about it and people freak out... Are we living behind the Red, White and Blue Curtain of Conformity now???

That SpaghettiO with the sneakers has always weirded me out.

No bottom jaw.

Still licks top lip.

Mr. SpaghettiOs: "Guys. I've called this meeting because I really need to talk about something. Now we all know that business is great. Folks in America are lapping up our spaghetti Os and we're all getting nicely fat and rich. Just last week I was able to pay for my three teenage daughters to get the plastic surgery they so very much deserved. But I realise that doing good deeds like that needs not finish within the confines of my own family because dammit, America is a family right? Hell yeah it is! So I've been thinking we should use the resources and the downright respect that we've fostered with our brand to start doing some good. Folks need to remember Pearl Harbour, right? And what better way to do dignity and service to the fine Americans who lost their lives there than with an image of the American flag being waved by the company's cartoon logo, itself the very embodiment of pride and prosperity. What do you say fellas? Shall we clean this place up?"

Man at meeting: "Sir, that's a great idea, to do something good and all but is there not a risk that people will think we're hijacking an important public memorial to further our own private interests?"

Mr. SpaghettiOs: "Son, I once thought like you. But you listen up. Those 'private interests' are why my daughters now have new lips and noses and why I can pay for my 30 stone son's care bills. Who else is gonna do that, huh? You think Obama cares about these people? Dammit, if it wasn't for his greedy taxes, I'd have been able to save my wife's racehorse. You gonna tell me the interests of young people, the sick and animals aint something worth fighting for? You think the Taliban eat SpaghettiOs?! Now get out there and start setting an example. SpaghettiOs, and new low fat SpaghettiOs with added multivitamins, are about doing good in the world. "

Also, fuck Pearl Harbor. Without that shit, we don't have all this "Greatest Generation" nonsense.

Shout out to Japan and 20th century oil embargo's for making heros out of a bunch of old and dead people. :thumb:

Basically the Japanese fucked up declaring war in a timely and fashionable manner and ended up pre-emptively bombing the shit out of it before being like "oh hey guys we're fighting now" so it was basically an unexpected ball punch of Johnny Cage intensity (back when such things just were not done) and ended up being the catalyst of the USA deciding to join in the conflicts that came to define The Second World War, and by becoming involved helping to swing the balance in favor of saving the rest of the free world as we know it... which may not have been the best idea, in hindsight.

Indeed, it was a naval base they hit, and every ship that was attacked was a military one. Contrast that with Hiroshima, or the firebombing of Dresden. Just saying.

Well, despite the fact that the U.S. Government supposedly knew of the attack beforehand, but apparently did not take the threat seriously enough, we were not at war with Japan at the time.

Now I definitely know what that "D" in "D.o.S." stands for.
