Marquis. French film from the late 80's.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0097839/
The scene is a pre-French Revolution Bastille, where various political prisoners are being held: a woman who was raped and impregnated by the king, a police chief who was accused of selling bad pork, and the Marquis, who was unjustly accused of working for the overthrow of the king. The Marquis is only interested in writing his deviant stories, while his penis yearns for a little action (they argue about this frequently), the prime candidate being the jailer who likes to be buggered. The corrupt priest arranges to have the pregnant woman raped by the Marquis so they can claim the king had nothing to do with it. The priest also steals the Marquis' manuscripts and publishes them for his own profit. Things come to a head as the people rise up against the tyranny.

Picked up a minty barely used craftsman Scroll saw today for $30. Really nice old dude was selling it. He just wanted his tools to get used. He seemed thrilled when I told him it would be for making guitars. Talked to him and his son for a while. Nice people.

Closed up those goddamn miters.
Just a block plane and elbow grease.
Nice score on the saw AxAxSxS.
I wish I had my own shop, nothing but hand tools for me right now.
Picking up a carcase saw and a low angle soothing plane.
Then it's dovetails ahoy.

i really wish i had a shop so much. i've got a fuckload of tools, but they're more house building tools than woodshop tools. and i have a hard enough time just storing them. certainly nowhere to set them up. and, building houses for a living can make it hard to be motivated to do too much carpentry in my spare time. although i do have some projects in mind.

i wish tj (wood wizard) would come back around and post in here. i always like seeing pics of his work and he's got cool stuff going on usually.

Yeah TJ makes some really beautiful stuff
I think I'm going to work on making templates today. I have some MDF board that I need to get working on. The SG shape, pickups route templates, Floyd rose and fender style trem route templates are what I need.

I'm taking a furniture making class. The first project is a table. Then I'll build a bookshelf. Project #3 will be a guitar body.
Now that I've learned the basics of the tools, I've been eyeing Craigslist for deals.

Dovetails eh?
You can cut the by hand, which is a lot fun actually.
You''ll a nice smallish handsaw, combination square, marking gauge and chisels.
If want to machine them, you may want to look into jigs and routers and whatall.
Remember bros, there are TONS of other joints you can use.

spent some time trying to straighten out this bit o spalted so I can make a top out of it. mixed results but we'll see if I can save it. It was pretty warped. If I can save it, it should look great!
