Damn man, how do you have that all wired up to work together? I run 3 heads at once and Isolate the power supply's, that's got to be a headache to make work.

half of it is for baritone, the other half for synth (that I'm playing with my feet). radial aby isolated outs for each.
Core setup is an OrangeHead&OrangeCab and an SVT&NV412 (which is why I have two of each). The rest is candy.
I'm not pluggin in 8 heads & cabs... I'd like to - but space doesn't even permit me to keep it all in the same space.

I'm still a big fan of that, don't get me wrong, but I've come around to the fact that it probably ain't gonna be possible for me. Gear is too expensive here and there just isn't the readily available cool/weird/awesome shit available that you guys get, and that's the shit that interests me.
I'd rather have just a couple of things that are high quality/durable that I can get for a sensible price that sound good.
You can do a lot with a little.
Plus, I hafta be able to fit shit into my car, which rules out 4s/6s and such x12s.
More is more would definitely be happening if I lived over there. It would be like a fucking arms race.
I'd be like, "keep up, summit! What?! I CAN'T FUCKING HEAR YOU!!!"
Although, I'd say whiskey would still pwn all of us.

I'm with you Iommic. I mean I COULD fit a 2x15 in my car if I wanted to (and I have, when I was actually playing shows regularly) but now I'm to the point where two 1x12's are OK with me.

As much as I would like a wall like Forrrest it could never happen/I would never have an excuse for it although I'd like to. That's an amazing collection Forrrest!

and i do get that you cant"try shit out" pope
if you get somethin thrown to you down there
it better be good
but if 2 years from now ILdoom
turns into ILmodelingthroughheadphones
im buying a plane ticket
one way
and dragging your ass into shark infested waters

Haha! Ease up tiger, it won't clittlee to that.
You're right, though, its no good for the purposes of internetting to be discussing practicality.
Hey man, there are some nuggets of gold and hidden gemsinold cheap stuff. If you like and the price is right, go ballistic. That's what I was driving at before. Our market is so limited, a lot of that gold just can't be found, especiallynot at reasonable prices.
I'm glad Forrest posted that though. Compensates for my minimalism.
Yeah skully, you gotta be pragmatic sometimes. That shit is like fantasy league to me.
Most Aussie bands get real punk rock and just punch it with whatever is available, so I'm used to that.
I can certainly afford to go a li nuts with pedals though. That satiates myneeds a little.

why don't you guys start building cabs?
is ordering speakers that much more expensive? (new neodym speakers are light, and cheaper to ship)
I'd like to see this board talking about loud speakers! show me some love for the Kappa & the Delta Pro-12A!

Doom started as stacking what ever cheap cabs you can find (this is why certain brands are popular with the doom crowd - they were cheap and undesired by others!)
that approach isn't going to go away
but being pragmatic about getting loud is also a serious option. and going DIY loud is feasible.

That 1x15 is snazzy as fuck. I've been toying with the idea of adding a 1x15 to go under my 2x12 for my Ampeg. MINI STACKS OF FUCKING DOOM.

Now talk dirty to me about that OR15. I played one when they first came out and have been doing my best to convince myself I don't need one since then.
:animal:

This my first time trying a 15 and I like a lot more than the 12's and 10's I've played. Definitely recommend it :thumb:

The OR-15 has treated me quite well, it's pretty damn loud and even turning the gain up to about 12:00 and then running fuzz into it I can get just the thickest bass-heavy tones. I can't get enough of it. Then when I need some more definition, I just hit the treble boost. I even played some death metal riffs using it the other day. On it's own it kind of lacked a real thick low end and has more of a mid and treble heavy crunch. Also it didn't stack well with some of my fuzzes but with work most will do. I got mine for $400 and if you can find a good price on one they are very much worth it :thumb:

ahah, man the irony is that I look at secondhand aussie gear listings with extreme jealousy.

It's even worse over here.

Still there are local vintage gems like Holden/Wasp, Eminar, Jansen etc. Cabs can go pretty cheap, it's just about finding one near you.

after a quick search of gumtree australia
orange PPC412 - 900$
http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/ermingto ... 1030013038
that's not as bad as I expected.

EL34 all tube 100 watt head - 450$
http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/south-co ... 1033089325

peavey mark 3 - 200$
http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/st-clair ... 1033511874

peavey mark 4 - 100$
http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/beaumont ... 1033307480

EV Bass Speaker 18" - 200$
http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/beaumont ... 1033307742

MARSHALL VINTAGE MODERN 2246 100 WATT HEAD - 1050$
marshall 4X12 for 500$.

there's gear to be had. no one is giving it away but it's quite affordable. & isn't your min wage 15$?
i dunno where you live in australia, but anyone who doesn't live near metropolitan areas has to drive for the good deals. go for gear drives! co-ordinate shows/tours with picking up/buying gear!

It's on my DIY project list, after some more bass and guitar builds. I made my bass 1x10 that I use for demo recording at home with an Eminence Basslite and it's killer. It wasn't a scratch build though, just a day "kit" based on items available from partsexpress for a specific speaker's specs. I made a replacement baffle to convert chillerthanmost's Marshall 8x10 to a 4x12, which seemed like the hardest part of a cab build. I've been wanting to make myself a couple 4x12 cabs for guitar. I already have 4 good bass cabs besides the 1x10, but still thinking of making a wide sealed 4x15 for bass to go under the amp Nick is making me. The greenboy Dually is the shit though, worth every penny. I've got two and they're sound cannons, even with low wattage amps.

Delta Pro 12a is my favorite! That's what one of my 1x12's is loaded with :doom:
