Seems like they have decided to make it into a movie. If it's anything like the illustrations Gammell did for the original books...

Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark
Does anyone else have fond memories of reading these terrifying tales under the covers, or in far off nooks in the library, etc? I can still remember some of the poems word for word.

Someone here has an etched pedal with a crazy SSTTITD cover. I think it's in the Doom Room.
Also, I still routinely think about the one where the spider lays an egg in some woman's cheek while she's sleeping. That shit has legit scarred me for life. In a good way.

Re: Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark
Damn, I read these when I was a kid many moons ago!
Don't you laugh
as the hearse goes by
for you may be
the next to die
...
the worms crawl in
the worms crawl out
the worms play pinochle
on your snout
they eat your eyes
they eat your nose
they eat the jelly between your toes
Fuck, I wanna cover that song...

I'm still in awe that these were available in the school library when so many other things were "controversial".

I knew I couldn't be the only one! I've been trying to read them online, haha. I forgot how scary some of the artwork was! Saw some people with badass SSTTITD tatts.
