PREACHER AND ALSO TRANSMETROPOLITAN. BASICALLY EVERYTHING BY VERTIGO.
Although transmet would have to be 7 or 8 movies long and have a giant budget but what the fuck if fast and the furious can do it right???

I've never read a comic book.
I could name some comic strips that would be (incongruously) awesome as R-rated movies. Garfield, for example.

God, Preacher would have to be a huge movie to fit everything (and everyone) in it. I wouldn't want it if there was no Arseface.THEBEERHAMMER wrote:PREACHER AND ALSO TRANSMETROPOLITAN. BASICALLY EVERYTHING BY VERTIGO.

Fables would have been cool... but ABC took that idea, took out the awesome parts, threw in some disney characters and made Once Upon A TimeTHEBEERHAMMER wrote:BASICALLY EVERYTHING BY VERTIGO.

There were two animated Fritz The Cat movies. the first one was rated X, even. R. Crumb wasn't a fan. the second one is not quite as good, imo.Greenfuz wrote:fritz the cat

This. I never even bothered with the second. I love the first though because Ralph Bakshi.OddKnowledge wrote:There were two animated Fritz The Cat movies. the first one was rated X, even. R. Crumb wasn't a fan. the second one is not quite as good, imo.Greenfuz wrote:fritz the cat
You just have to keep in mind that it was literally the FIRST time a bunch of former Disney animators could really go wild and make something that fulfilled their more raucous sense of humor. So as a result a lot of it seems really gratuitous and without tact compared to some of Bakshi's other work like American Pop or even the subsequent Heavy Traffic...(had to stop self because I could talk about Bakshi forever)
But uhhhhhh, weren't they going to make a Y: The Last Man movie? They'd obviously have to take some parts out but I think the general story arc could possibly done well as one film.
