Re: DIRGE ELECTRONICS: Progress/Protos/Puppies
Alright so I guess I'll post the list:
Finish Kosta's Rocktave by wiring up the series/parallel and get it tested and shipped
Get warwick_hoy's delay shipped out
Open up MeSoFuzzy's Reverb and take a look for modding
Drill out enclosure for retinal's SSStampede + RAT
Think I will be making a Rangemaster amp top unit in an old telephone for the Life Aquatic
In the talks of a pretty massive pedal for MonkeyDancer, gotta do some testing first though
Eventually gonna be making a crazy loop switcher for ApeLincoln in the future I believe too!

Yeah! An old red one from the 80's! Gonna do some point to point madness in there I think. If not PTP, definitely tagstrip style. Gonna add a bias pot in addition to the boost and range knobs too!

I still need to head out to the post office. Been super preoccupied with some family stuff right now, but the dust has settled so I can get on top of that.

Green Ringer part of the Rocktave/Ringer is tested and working. I wired up the input and outputs onto the normal bypass switch to test the rocktave and got nothing. when the power isn't plugged in I get clean signal even with the effect engaged, but plugged in is absolutely nothing

Thanks dude. Resting my eyes for the rest of the night. Going to do some more research and possibly start a thread on DIYStompboxes about it. Seems like I'm not the only one that has encountered a few problems with the circuit

Wonder if it would be worth starting a thread in the DIY subforum here? Not surprised that it's a tough one. The PAIA stuff always seems a little touch & go to me.

Re: DIRGE ELECTRONICS: Progress/Protos/Puppies
Yeah I can try that too!
I've got a few questions about it.
I didn't get the 4th chip to put into the socket because I wasn't planning on wiring up any of the GGG mods. Part of me wonders if it is essential for the circuit to work properly to at least have the chip seated, although it doesn't look like any of the leads that go to the chip would attach to anything other than the rotatary switch for octave divisions. Part of me wants to get that chip and seat it and see if that will make it work.
I also have a few questions about the wiring of it in general, there are some confusing traces that don't match up to the original rocktave that have me scratching my head a little bit, ie there are two holes on the board marked E when there is only one on the original rocktave board.
Lastly, since it's going to be wired up as true bypass instead of using the buffered bypass that is built into the board, I'm wondering if there is anything special that I need to do. I read on DIYstompboxes that some just left the engage switch off and when the two pads aren't connected you get the effect signal, but I'm not sure.
I think it's weird that when there is no power that there is still a signal when the effect is engaged, when in most cases for any other type of effect it would be silence.
I'm really glad I ordered an extra set of chips because I took one out of the chip socket last night and a leg snapped off, so I had a backup for it.

I missed that thread! That has to be the only one that I didn't read haha Awesome. I'm going to look at my wiring and see what I can do after Thanksgiving about it since I leave out of town tomorrow morning!

Re: DIRGE ELECTRONICS: Progress/Protos/Puppies
It looks like since I won't be using the mod with the 4017 I can leave the F' connection off and leave the regular F connection that I already have wired up there. So that question is answered.
Looks like I might need to double check my tone pot wiring, I think I just left left one of the lugs disconnected instead of jumping them together on the tone pot.
