Recommend 1 album

Post by Ugly Nora »

Christmas is rapidly approaching which means I will be getting a $100 AMEX gift card from work. Since it would be no fun to buy sensible items like clothes, gas, and groceries with this money, I have decided to buy music.

Recommend 1 album I should buy. It doesn't matter what genre. It should basically be your #1 choice of a musical gift you would like to share with a person if you had to pick just 1. Pretend I was an alien. What would be the first album you would play for me? It should preferably be something that is not totally popular as I could probably figure that stuff out myself and it would be a boring thread. We all have Toto IV in our collections so there is no need to recommend that (I'm looking at you UG).

Given your appreciation of things focused on drone/noise/texture, you need to have Yellow Swans - Going Places in your collection if you don't already.

Yep I got that one. One of things I am going to buy is the Yellow Swans/Birchville Cat Motel collaboration. If you haven't heard BCM, check them out (him actually,it is a one man project).

Here is one of the 2 songs from the collab album:
