Yeah, they've pretty much admitted that the Amp 11 is a Timmy derivative. Haven't a number of their other drives been proven to be like, slightly modified versions of the EDIT: Electra distortion?

Guys like Fulltone, Lovepedal, JHS, Vemuram, Tone Monk, Freekish Blues, they all have cloned and made money off of them, and then threatened or acted like an entitled twat to those that clone their pedals or anyone who complains about bloated prices. It's a huge hypocrisy circle jerk. Some are worse than others, obviously, but Lovepedal basically made a killing out of slight variations of the same circuit with mediocre wiring and unimpressive parts.

It happens. Don't beat yourself up over it. Obviously it's for real, but buying pedals and saving money doing so is also a reality. PryMaxe play off of this. They know that threads like this will never demolish what they have going on. People will always, for better or worse, and without judgement, give in to their whims. I will avoid PryMaxe, but there is no point pretending that I'm as resilient as a donkey with a cinder block for a brain, because I just don't have the motivation or the money. I will try because I believe in supporting those I care about, but it's not going to keep my awake at night. But that picture of the Prymaxe dude will... ugggggghhhhhhh.

Well, he didn't "rip off" anyone. I never said that, not like some of the others did *cough* Freekish Blues *cough*. But he has used other people's designs to make thousands of dollars. A couple of days ago he sent a guy I know a threatening message for selling an unused OCD clone he had built for himself for fun... and he was really fucking mean about it. Of course, he was probably just having a bad day, and he has been known to be volatile, but it's kind of ironic when you read his interview with Guitar Center. He basically says he was buying broken pedals that were already in production, fixing them and them selling them at a huge profit. Nothing wrong with this. It's just hypocritical to attack a DIY-enthusiast when that's how he started. Many of his pedals are clones and tweaks of older circuits. This is something he admits. Again, nothing wrong with that. That's not my beef. My beef is directed at why he verbally abuses and threatens lawsuits to someone who wants to do the same thing as he did as a younger man, but isn't interested in making tons of money and simply doesn't want a pedal that he/she made any more.

Look at his catalogue of pedals. They're mostly variations on original circuits. The OCD is based on the Voodoo Labs overdrive, which is similar to the DOD 250, there are a couple of fuzz faces, tone benders, octave fuzzes, vibes, etc. that are all based on someone else's designs. Again, this is not a problem. I love that he's made good products in the way that he has. What I don't like is his reaction to others trying to do the same, but without the money. He builds pedals for money. It's his job now, but that's not how he started. This guy I told you about, selling clones of clones of clones for money is not his mission. He just wanted to flog a pedal he built for cheap. He was threatened, so he removed any copyrighted names such as 'OCD'. Seemingly that's what Mike Fuller was in such a tizzy about. He has said that he doesn't have a problem with DIY pedal builders, but again, his reaction was OTT (geddit?!) and uncalled for. Maybe he was having a bad day; maybe he's fed up of people trying to make money off of his circuits, I don't know. But let's face it, the man is making far more for doing the same thing.

Now, I'm not boycotting Fulltone. They don't make anything that interests me. It's all basic stuff. I just think he needs to chill the fuck out and stop acting so entitled.

The Lovepedal overdrives that aren't Timmies are all Electra distortions. When Lovechud writes "gets the exact tone of a tweed 57 deluxe" or whatever and on another he writes "gets the exact tone of a high power tweed twin" the differences are the clipping diodes, and maybe a tone cap (the electra distortion has like 6 components). Forget the clone wars: this is a shitty way to treat your customers.

If he wrote "this is a modified electra distortion with switchable diodes. I think it sounds like a tweed twin" it'd be a different matter. Then his customers could make an informed choice between his Electra and, say, Catalinbread's actual original designs.

Which they probably put shitloads of work into! Design, development, etc. Whereas whipping up Electra distortions that he didn't design and saying he's copping amp tones is a lazy copout.
