On-Off-On or On-On-On?

Why not make it (lift side one) - off - (lift side two) ? Its assymetrical clipping so you can lift either side to change the overall tone.

hmm in the off position whatever is on the common terminals will not be connected to either side. Not sure how that will jive on the OG reutz mod approach.

ruetz mod does not affect the clipping diodes, it adjusts the gain level and freq response of the op amp.

You mean like stock, Ruetz mod, and then put the other resistor on the last part?

Is it a DPDT or SPDT?

SPDT. It's this one:

I'm sorry its the feedback loop.

So in the reutz mod you basically cut the connection to one side of this loop, which changes the R/C interaction and basically lowers the gain and increases the frequency response, but cutting one side or the other changes the characteristics differently. So could you do (lift left side) - stock - (lift right side)?

hmmm shit. Not sure. If it was DPDT I could get a bit crafty in the off position but for that one I dont know. What scheme are you going to wire into it?

wont work because in the middle neither is connected to ground so the circuit will have no gain. Both cant be connected in the off position then unconnected in the on positions

To make this work the off position should be minimum gain (that might be the reg reutz) then one side might be stock and the other is ??? kind of up to you. You could go even more gain be making the 47 ohm resistor smaller say 22-4.7 ohm for even more gain

From the description of clipping the other resistor it seems like it will make it more harsh and cut a little more of the bass. Not sure if I wanna go that route although I am kinda curious to hear what it would sound like. I wonder if I could wire the 3d one for some crazy circuit bent shit and flip it on during noise sections of a song.

Sounds dirty. I usually don't do those things until the 3rd date, but your sombrero is kinda hot so I might make an exception.

I was just planning on lifting that resistor and putting it on one leg and then keeping it stock on the other.
