I'm definitely with you. With the Micro Black Deaths the battery compartment at least raises the PCB off the table/floor/etc. When I saw he was releasing a limited run of Black Deaths in aluminum cases with switchable code I had to jump on it. They just sound so damn good for the stuff I do. Excitement.skullservant wrote:I'm glad they started making those into enclosures. I always hated the PCB version, just something about it made it seem extra fragile

Yeah -- but the Whammy V is already True Bypass.jasonmitsch wrote:Pretty sure there's a bypass mod for the whammyodontophobia wrote:in:
only downside is that even with it turned off there was still noticeable high-end loss at the volume I was playing. I just stuck it in a true bypass loop that Skully made for me a while back and it went away -- so weird because the Whammy V is True Bypass so with everything off I was hoping I wouldn't have any problems. I don't know. Maybe I'll play with the order a little bit.

He brought his entire rig to my apartment (multiple guitars, amp, pedalboard), had to have me help him swap out the speaker (we couldn't get the original out; fucking boutique amp...), and insisted on putting his amp on my couch after I rigged a speaker jack.
Memorable quotes of the evening: "I'm a huge John Mayer fan," and a reference to network of church aka P&W bands.
He also played a PRS (didn't bring a strap so borrowed mine), used the gold Monster patch cables, and kept talking up his fancy boutique amp (just a Fender clone with poor internal design and a meh sound).
All this to say I sold that fucking speaker.
Disclaimer: This sounds very hateful towards the typical TGP crowd. But seriously this guy was a passive aggressive jerk. And hated fuzz.

Get it and flip it? It's cool because it can do things that you might have to go boutique for, especially with the SA expression pedz you already own. Muff with cranked midrange? Rat that can have all the treble rolled off? Gated fuzz face? Medium gated tube screamer? Low pass Octavia?behndy wrote:EEK. WANTSIES.
