pancakes can eat twelve flavors of dick. and at least three of those flavors should be sibling based.
Have you had a full-Irish breakfast pancake? I have a tradition of eating at this really hipster joint up in Dublin whenever I see a band. It's the best hangover food I know of. It's healthy and hearty, but it's also greasy in the most natural and balanced of ways. A glass of fresh orange juice, an espresso, a savoury crepe... oh yeah!
behndy wrote:lol. well, unsoldered cables suck buttholes.

pancake cables - not saying well built ones aren't reliable, but the cheapie Hosa's sound fine, but they're not that robust. you have to rescrew them (YESH) every 3 months or so, and i eventually either have intermittent problems with them or the barrel rips free on the inside. i should have enough room to use the Planet Waves ones that the molded plastic. bit sturdier.

i'm also going to see how much it'll be to get dooder to do all the cables i need and just the odd length ones. might go balls deep in quality customy cables.

i love pancakes for tight packing. but sometimes builders put the top mounted jacks too close together so there's not room for an in out and the psu cable.

i've built them but.... i don't trust them. and this guy is not much more than i was paying for just the supplies.
Yeah, solderless cables are pretty shitty. It's all right if you're only playing at home and don't mind messing with cables every few weeks, but if you want something reliable then always go soldered. I hope the Lava cable pancakes I spent a small fortune on will last me.

Oh sorry, I didn't know you didn't eat meat. It's basically the same as an English breakfast just with a few alterations here and there.

The cables I bought were pre-made. They were these ones (with the Switchcraft 229 pancake plug):

http://lavacable.com/index.php?id=162

I bought them in one of the America holiday sales during the summer. The guy from Lava cable is, I think, quite patriotic and offers great savings on specific national holidays like Veteran's Day.

awesome. yeah, i've soldered cables and.... i don't trust them. not sure what i'm doing wrong but they have an unfortunate fail rate and aren't reliable. rather pay someone to make them that knows what they're doing.

lol. no worries. i'm not a militant asshole about the meat thing, i don't really care how many cows or pigs we kill. just don't dig on the taste. i like the eggs and toast on English Brekky. the beans are good when i can't taste the pork.

This would be way more awesome if there was a push-button + a locking switch to freeze a tone.

yeah, true. I had one for a while and it was ok but WAY too loud compared to a guitar signal. Definitely needs a volume control.

Nothing extravagant coming my way, just another SL-20.
I had one and liked it but now that I'm synchronizing most things, I want to give it another go and link it to the rest.

Traded Doc Sci Ryan an The Elements for my Atoner/Sweptoner.

Atoner is cool but it's one of those deals where I don't see a practical application in a live setting and I have needs elsewhere so off it goes.

Can't wait am excited for The Elements. Been needing a good sounding OD/Distortion for a while and the Boss SD-2 I'm currently using isn't really cutting it anymore. The Elements seems very versatile and I appropriate for both guitar and bass duties.

Definitely rad of Ryan to be willing to make a trade with me as well.

I feel the same. I know some are perfectly skilled and confident with their soldering abilities, but until I practise at it, which I'm not going to do with cables that need to be secure and functional (there is nothing worse than troubleshooting a 12-pedal pedalboard for that one dodgy cable), I think I'm going to stick to the guys that have done it a thousand times before. It's an overpriced product, but they have to make money and there is a market for it, so whatever.
