Iommi I saw Sleep last night and they were INCREDIBLE. Played over their allotted time (they were headliner in that venue so who cares) and the staff were trying to get them to stop, Al just stared one of them down. It was ridiculous. One of the best, most effortlessly heavy bands I've ever had the pleasure of watching.

Fuck, I just got my head back together.
Sleep was religious. And effortlessly heavy is the perfect fucking way to describe it. Right on, man.

Ha! Al staring motherfuckers down would have been awesome!

I've heard that Al can be a real contentious guy when it comes to venue related stuff like monitors/set times/etc.

The first time Om played in Boston the sound dudes had to physically eject them from the stage, bros coming up on stage and turning off amps and such.

hahaha that rules. I seriously think if the venue staff had done that in melbourne they wouldn't've gotten out of there alive. Too many angry doom bogans.

Yeah, Om doesn't really bring out the bogans as much as the heads/scene brahs and sahs. At least, early on. Esp. in New England, where the HXC RULES ALL THAT IS METAL.

Yeah, they did stop dragonaut cause Al was having monitor issues and walked off stage. He came back on a little pissed off, but he wasn't being a diva about it, Summonus were having montor problems too. Which is bound to happen when you put out as much ridiculous low end as they do. He just said sumthin like, "We've waited a long time to play down here, and we wanna make it right....where are the monitor people?!"
Which was piss funny, and cool.

And for the record, the only lights on were red.

dase, Sydney had its fair share of bogans of doom, and a few vest-goobs as well. Some dude had a seizure right as they came on and landed on my wife's foot, but he was cool again and recovered ok.
I dunno about the set you saw, but Sydney was sweet.

Anyone get their copy of the new Whores and listen to it yet? I got mine this morning and it sounds like absolute ass. No low end at all. It isn't my record player because I put on a few others and the low end is all there with them.

I just want to say thanks to the dudes who came out to our couple of out of town shows this weekend. it was great to finally meet ethan and john in person and always good to see darren. we had killer shows. sadly, wolvserpent got turned away at the border and couldn't play the vancouver show, but we still had a good time.

Just picked it up today. I listened to the pre-order tracks a few days ago and dug them. It's hard for me to look at it objectively because I loved Ruiner so much. I'll listen to it all now.

Dunno. Looking at the record though there seems like there is nothing wrong with it. The grooves all look as deep as Ruiner is.
