It doesn't have any sort of input gain control, even as an internal trimmer? Most synth/pitch detecting pedals have something along those lines.

y'know, it's weird. it's not any of the control issues with it that bug me. i'm fine with all that.
i'm just not super in love with the tone. not a knock on Tyler, i might not be an octaver kind of guy.
on mines the Unison Synth is my favorite part, and it seems less ballsy since i got it back.

I haven't sent mine out for the update because I don't have any issues with it as is. I never use the clean octave soloed. The chatter is only an issue when I'm not touching the strings. I like having extra gain available, like unity for me is only around 1:00 for the synth voices. The SubT and Xero are my 2 most used pedals at this point because they just have THAT sound. I too use the unison voice the most.behndy wrote:y'know, it's weird. it's not any of the control issues with it that bug me. i'm fine with all that.

Yeah, the clean octave tone ins't floating my boat either. I do appreciate the range of tones available via the filter, but none of them do the octave tone I like. Probably need to cut my losses and move on. I so wanted this to rock.behndy wrote:y'know, it's weird. it's not any of the control issues with it that bug me. i'm fine with all that.

I think I might need to look into an H9, espescially since I can use it to control my Source Audio Midi stuff, could possibly simplify my board quite a bit.

The SubT just gave me a headache, I didn't keep it long enough to get the "fix" though, the noise bleed and over sensitivity killed it for me. I am happier with my BSY-600 for synthy stuff and my trusty MIJ OC-2 for octave. Taylor's stuff is awesome, the SubT just wasn't for me.
H9 is hot though! I had a little play time with one recently.

H9 is the bees knees. Kicked the M9 off my board last night. I'm looking forward to more midi pedals on my board so I can link them all up.

I still like the m series. I keep an m13 in my room for noodling and looping without my big board. H9 is just doing the same things I was using the M9 for but better.behndy wrote:yesh. YESH. although i still love the M9. 's a beast. just too.... too big. can't take it. GO CHANKGY.

I was looking at this sound sculpture switchblade for controlling the midi and non midi pedals. It's like a bypass loop/blend rearranger with 8 loops. Also has a software editor. It's expensive at $800 but so flexy and seems to have limitless possibilities.
I'd probably start with a dmc though while gathering funds

What distortions/OD's are we bassists sprung on these days? Looking to replace a Boss SD-2 for bass duties. Just looking for that light grind, breakup just beyond clean boost sound. Gripe with the Boss is that the lowend is a bit lacking.
The Darkglass B3K seems to fit the bill but the price is a little out of my league.

Yeah Darkglass kind of nailed OD for me too. The b3K really helped me figure out how important highmids are in band situation, it's like I don't love the tone in my room but it sounds amazing when playing with others.
BrimStone audio has neat looking pedal but it is expensive too.

Outlaw? BlackSheep?
I'm on it (after I get the wife off to work this morning).
I haven't been around a whole lot. About a month ago I lost my job. No matter. I have a feeling the ship was sinking so it is probably a good time to jump ship. I had been working (on a salary) about 50-60 hours a week. Dealing with all kinds of out of control employees. I suffered a neck injury followed by illness. I tried to return to work prematurely and had a breakdown. I got sent home and was given a few days to figure it out. I asked for a leave of absence and was told that there was no guarantee that there would be a position for me when I was ready. While on good terms I couldn't help but feel like I was being run out of the joint.
The one thing that I was able to determine is that I'm really just over making food for other people. It's just difficult to be passionate about food when the people that appreciate it are far overshadowed by the ones that are neurotic, ignorant and general assholes about it. Couple that with all the bureaucracies that you have to deal with (both internally and externally) and body telling me "no more" and it was time to make a change. Taking a step back, I've really discovered that I do have a passion for cooking but I channel that into feeding my family rather than feeding the unappreciative ignorant masses.
Not sure where I'm gonna go from here. There are a couple of certifications that I'm interested in. CNC/Machining, Welding/Metal Fabrication and of course Electronics Engineering (which would be an actual degree). I'm likely to pursue those avenues before getting back into the dead end, family destroying, alcoholic producing lifestyle that is food service.
Trying to get mah shit together. I find myself in a sort of Minus the Bear-ish vibed band. We've only got two songs put together but it's a pretty laid back affair. Rhythm and Lead Guitar, Bass and Drums. No Vox yet. I can't say that I'm a huge fan of MTB, not that I dislike, I just never really paid that much attention. The pedalboard is really stripped down as a result. Pretty much just od/distortion/fuzz/octaver and volume and tone management.
Anyway. Hi how is everybody?
