the old ones were also called the 1959SLP. i haven't played the reissues of that, but i have had some experience with a couple of the reissue jcm 800's with the effects loop. a band i worked for rented a couple on a couple of different european tours that we did. i can't speak for the effects loop itself, as they didn't use it, but the amps themselves sounded great. i wouldn't be able to tell a difference probably between them and the originals. i was a little surprised actually. based on that, i would imagine that the super lead reissues are probably pretty good too.
