More or less what I use. Heyboer a little more than MagComp but I have used both.

Also wanted to mention nice heater wiring. Too often I see poorly wired heaters in high end custom amps. Very refreshing to see that well done.

I know, my car failed smog check in July and I'm having to deal with it now. Paid my 800 bucks for registration today. (I'm bad at paying tickets). Car still needs some repairs to pass Smog which is gunna be another 500-1000 bucks. And still for some reason I just had to buy that Musicmaster last weekend. But fuck, it might be here tomorrow. Funny the thread took this turn (bad pun), but last week I was driving with my friend, and while at a stop light we noticed another friend of ours pulling out of a parking lot. Coincidentally, we had just been talking about his band who just returned from a tour. Anyway, he had his window open and we started calling his name, but we couldn't get his attention. I saw the truck in front of me start to go, so I let the foot off the brake, but was still trying to see if our friend had noticed... BAM - Right into the back of a Comcast truck at 2mph. $3,061.00 of damage to my car, and nothing to the truck, thankfully.

It turns out my friend saw the accident, but didn't see us and had no idea it had anything to do with him until I told him later that night. He felt in a way it was his fault which was totally ridiculous! After I told him, we started talking a while in general and about amps, and he decided to order a Street Sweeper from me, which he had been wanting to do for a while...

Best part is that the money from the amp will just cover my deductible. Haha, I guess it turned out okay.

Thanks! I see it too in pricey amps. It's not a risk I'm willing to take, especially in the high gain models where there is a lot of potential for noise.

I also use a DC offset and hum balance adjustment as well to null out an residual hum or buzz, which I first saw in an old Model T. Here's a great old article from 1948 on the topic! The DC offset also has the benefit of reducing the heater to cathode voltage when using cathode followers.

yea I have been floating the heaters in most of my amps for sometime now although 99% of the time I have PTs with CTs on the heater taps so I just run that CT to the DC float node instead of the hum adjustment pot. Another reason I float the heaters is to make sure I do not hit the maximum Vhk (heater to cathode voltage) potential. For some circuits like LTPIs and followers you can run the risk of shorting the heater to cathode if that potential is exceeded.
