That red knob that was on the bay? It went for over two grand?

:picard:

The mismatched power tube threw me off. Why did it blow just one tube? And why didn't the owner care enough to buy four new ones? Just kinda makes me curious to the history and previous maintenance.

And Ryan, u sir are a rare breed. Please do us all a favor and never change.

Yup, thats the one. I was curious about the tube situation too. I knew I was gonna get outbid with my budget but I was hoping I could have lucked up and won it.

Ryan - I've played a few schecters and their pretty nice guitars, smooth players with thick tone.

Conky - I knew it was gonna go sky high cause of the clean internals, but over 2 grand is just ridiculous. I'd rather pick up a Dunwich or Hex clone at that price, atleast that way all the parts would be new and you'd have absolutely no worries about stability.

yeah man, I'm at about $400 on any old sunn amps Model T, D , Q, X or Z Don'ts give a fucks I'm at $650 including parts and labor on my 1200s and consider it money well spent. Now a brand new Dunwich or Verellen. Man I wish I could throw a big chunk of change down on that.

Ryan that bass is cool, you should cut off the top horn on the headstock and smooth the rest of the shape into it, then give it the crusty placenta paintjob we've been talking about. I kinda want to experiment with different paints and or epoxys and light them on fire before they cure and see what happens. I have a bass project I've been slowly working on that I spent $20 on so that might be a good canidate for experimentation. I'll let you know what works.

Summit, I'd much rather see you giving commentary on humanitarian issues than Bono. Can we make this happen?
"So Bono, between the massive human rights problems plaguing North Korea, chemical warfare and civil unrest in Syria and the middle East and Putin (because...just Putin) what's the biggest problem U2 will be convincing world leaders to throw money they borrowed off China, CHINA, to solve this year?"
"Sorry, Bono can't be here to preach you all to death today. Instead, please refer your questions to Senior Pinnacle."
"Ah, thank fuck! Someone who's opinions I give a shit about."

Seriously though, nice ones dude.

Ok, so I had a thought....mind you, that doesn't mean too much.
I was reading somewheres that ye olde laney supergroup is based on a bassman of some description...as is my mig-50. Is it too much of a stretch to mod it to supergroup specs or am I completely wrong? I had a quick glance over some schems for the preamp and, while I am nearly circuit diagram illiterate, there were a lot of very close similarities, particularly in values. Or are they perhaps so close it's not even an issue?

I'd rather see Summit do anything rather than Bono. I mean seriously, even the dude's name "Bono" Makes me think he should be playing a n accordian and riding a tricycle while his handler sells peanuts.

Ryan Summit. Now thats a name you can depend on. So what if its not his real name. World leaders decide the course of history at a summit. Mountain climbers risk thier lives to reach the summit. The pinnacle and peak of all that is. Dude paints rooms so kids can learn! What monkey or politician has ever done that. Clearly there can be no contest.

Fuck yeah man. It's a great name for someone heading the UN.
Boutros Boutros-Ghali, Kofi Annan, Ban Ki-Moon, Ryan Summit.
Works for me.

Actually, Ryan Summit is also the most sensible name out of all of those as well. ALREADY MORE BETTERER THAN THE UN!

Let's not get into a political debate about the actual effectiveness of the UN.

this is fucking awesome.
my friend's dad would always hide his smoking from his granddaughters. his granddaughter that was adopted had this really cute and super low voice and she would always scold him or anybody she saw smoking cigarettes. hilarity always ensued.

glad the craigslist connection worked out.

Yeah, there's now way in hell I'd pay that for one. If I'm gonna drop cash like that on something it would be a Dunwich. Probably gonna hit that route next year if things line up correctly. My son's birthday is in October, my wedding anniversary is November, Christmas in December, wife's birthday is January, and Valentine's Day is February. I never have any cash to spare during those 6 months. I really shouldn't have bid on that amp, but I knew I wouldn't have won anyway (max bid was 900).
