Fuck, I am one of the few people that actually sticks up for Season 3. If people aren't bitching about this fucking shit, then I will sell myself.

What's wrong with season 3? The only season that got on my nerves was 6. The ending of that after the near miss ending of 5 just made it that much worse.

If they had just let Dexter die in that I fuck up everything moment of grief I would've been ok with that. Hell, just show the wreckage then Hannah reading the news report and leave it at that, but a fucking lumberjack to end it on?

Then again it's in line with how they've been fucking things post Rita/Trinity. Julia Stiles' character doing the reversal at the end of season 5, Deb not peeking inside the curtain so instead we have to suffer through season 6. Season 7 looked like it had it right before they unceremoniously dumped Isaac and did the stupid Hannah poisons Deb thing. Season 8 was a mess, like they were going through all the possible endings that got brought up during the staff meeting.

i've loved the show so much i'll definitely watch the whole thing again, but i'd have preferred a different conclusion as well. it was good, very emotional, but i think the only justification would be to make a dexter 2 since he's still alive & somewhere else.

i really was glad that the doc wasn't helping her son w/ the killings, even if she defended him (as a mother should) and had helped w/ dexter's code, but i also wished my prediction would've worked out w/ saxon knocking off hannah making dexter realize he should stay in miami w/ his sister and son and continue doing what he was doing that was good even if illegal, knocking off people who should be but the law couldn't handle. his intent via "code" from the start of the show was yes, illegal, but arguably for good.

despite how emotional it was, at least for me (don't mind admitting that, if my sis died i'd off myself to go w/ her if i had the guts), i was kinda oddly bummed he didn't do what he'd done to a lot of his victims to himself, knife to the heart and follow his sis to the bottom of the sea.
