I responded on Facebook. The parallel out is easy but I'm still trying to figure out the series out in that setup.

Cool man, I'll check when I get home, that's what had me confused to. One or thev other is easy but both with no switch had me feeling dumb.

I've been emailing him about different woods. I love walnut, but I'm not sure how it will sound, especially compared to maple / mahogany. I know some of you guys have Monson guitars. What are yours made of? I'm also unsure about pickup choices. I really love how the Duncan Distortion sounds in my LP but now I have the option for a Warpig or some Lace pickups so I'm not sure what to go with. The only thing I am sure about is that I want a bolt on neck, and a single bridge pickup with only a volume and a 3 way switch wired up to be hum single - kill switch. I rarely use the neck pickup.

Mine is made out of Sapele with a Wenge top, it sounds amaaaazing with Warpigs. Which body are you going for?
Yours is on the website with the shockwave inlay isn't it? That guitar is pretty sweet. I asked him if he could do a combination of two of his different guitars and sent him a bad photoshopped pic of what I was wanting. It'll be basically be the Redemption with the upper bout of the Doomsayer with beveled edges like an SG where my forearm will lay. I like the way a LP sits and that combination would put the strap buttons in just about the same place. I want the pickup switch down by the volume knob instead of the traditional LP placement. I think I'm wanting the neck to not have any inlays but the only thing that is keeping me from that is that when we play, we request the stage to be pretty dim. I don't want that to cause problems. I've had guitars with no inlays before but we never played in the dark like i do now.

Yeah that's mine. That sounds cool! Have you considered glowing side dots on the neck?

Glowing neck side dots sound silly. Until you are on a stage where you can't see shit. Ikve thought about ding that to a couple of mine.

The jacks on the back indicate it was wired for an input, then extension outs for either series or parallel. A previous owner cut the wires to these.
I;m pretty sure at least one of you has one and I was wondering if you could unscrew the jack plate and snap a pic or two of the wiring scheme. I'm sure I could work it out but I'd be more comfy just copying how its supposed to be. I'm one of those guys who has a mental block when it comes to series para wiring. such a simple thing but I always get it backwards and have to check my work.
A quick google search revealed zero info on the cabs wiring schematics.

Here's a pic I grabbed a long time ago from my 205.

I didn't know he offered them, but that would help out a ton. On my old ESP that I had with no inlays, I took some glow in the dark star stickers that I got from the dollar store and used a hole puncher to make little dots that I put on the side of the neck just in case we played a dark stage. It helped a lot when the lights got a little dim.

Which model? I've heard lots of good things about them but they aren't offered around here anywhere. Pickups are one of those things that I really don't like to buy without having some hands on experience with first. I like the PAF style pickups or Duncan Distortions but I've always wanted to try a Warpig or some Lace stuff like a Drop and Gain. I just want to make sure whatever pickup I get in there will sound good when it is split for a single coil since that will be the only tonal option I'll be able to get out of it since there will be no neck pickup.

The BKP Warpig as a single pickup in a guitar can be wired series / single / parallel which equates to moderate / low / high output and sounds absolutely killer with any dirt while somehow still having amazing cleans despite its insanely high output. I have no experience with any lace products though, and its hard to go wrong with a Duncan Distortion.

i'm also extremely interested in the Lace pickups.

I've heard great things about BKP...being in the UK, you hear a lot about them, and nothing but great things. But, like you Conky, i have never personally tried them...but would say that if skip says their good...you would have to try it out!

I'm looking to put new pups in my LP...but i cant justify spending BKP prices...as mine is an Epi not a Gibbi...but, Duncan Distortion has always interested me. My only concern on them is, are they known for clarity? or should i just get some humbucker sized P90's...

He's got a point, if your going for a fully custom guitar why not have a fully custom pickup wired to your specs for around the same cost as a Lace or BKP?

The Duncan Distortion set I put in my LP Standard a while back is killer. Cleans sound great, and my dirt is really heavy but clear at the same time. Really have no issues with them at all and am perfectly happy. That said though, I'm kinda torn between that and something like a Warpig because evcerything I have ever heard about them is what I look for in a pickup and all.

I don't think you'd be disappointed in the clarity out of a set of Duncans, especially when you find that sweet spot on the pickup height. Not a lot of cash and if you decided to sell it I'm sure you could get your money back out of it.

Didn't know he was local. They've been on my list of gear to check out for a while. I'm just now getting to where I'm starting to get over my slump of having shit to pay for so I'm already gassing for new things.

yea I am a bit biased towards Alex (Braves fan and all) but he makes some killer stuff, all custom, built to order for reasonable prices (you know kinda like someone else!)

However if you want Lace, I can get a discount on those 2. Applies for anyone.
