Anyone collect/play pokemon cards?

Post by aussy »

I seek advice! I have all these Japanese cards from like 13 years ago (like 25 foils if that matters, imakuni's doduo!) and I have no idea how to go about selling them. I tried to find a community to sell them on, but it seems like just taking a picture of every page and listing it up on ebay all together is my best bet. Thoughts? :idk:

local hobby store or a buy website like starcity games or collstuffinc.com selling one card at a time is frustrating and a lot of those teenage bastards have shady ebay practices. when i played magic tournaments regularly about 3-4 years ago i made 1000$ a month just from selling the winning cards to buy sites. its easy and they put it right in your paypal.

I was always unlucky with those booster packs. I had a sweet deck of Pogeymans but only like two energy cards for each type. They really needed to release energy-only packs back then. I wonder if you can even sell Pokemon cards now; aren't they as numerous as Beany Babies?

I heard the same thing about 1st editions. The bubble burst a long time ago on this stuff, so I'd say just hold onto it for a while. When we're all rich and nostalgic (20-30 years from now), they may be valuable again.

This.

Also, I was walking around old Ellicott City a few weeks ago and I shit you not they were selling Legos for $5 a scoop (a SMALL sandbucket full) at these antique and boutique toy stores. It just blew my mind that something like used Legos were popping up in stores for a decent amount of money.

I've still got all of my Pokemon and Magic cards at my mom's house sitting in a box. Maybe one day they will be worth something, although a majority of the Magic Cards are well played

One day, my holographic Zapdos was stolen during lunch in like...the 6th grade. It just disappeared.
A few months later, my friend down the street knocks on my door and runs away. I look and there's an apology note written in crayon, along with my Zapdos.
Pokemon cards.
