k it worked, does this site not allow imgur links or something?
After seeing that in the HCFX Doomroom is when I decided to pull the trigger on a Monson. Lovely guitar man.

I have been on a lower output kick recently but it looks like the deathbucker may be better for the lower tuning.
The ones I use on my 12's are intended for 6 string use. I dont think there is a wider version of the DB. Kickass pups though.

That would be mine :thumb:

I'm on a mobile device so multi quoting is a pain. Lol.

The neck profile is very fast and comfortable. Not sure of shape or technical aspects to be honest. Very similar to my old explorer I had. As far as reference material ill have to check and see.
Awesome, that was the only thing I was kind of worried about was the neck catering to my hands, love the feel of Explorers so I now have no worries at all.

There's only 3 videos and they should be the top hits. The electric funeral cover is mostly my wife's setup. The other live teaser you can hear it better. And the third is heavily effected and clean but is all just the monson.
Sounds fucking incredible man! So clear and warm.

Haha that's funny. I had my Monson neck modeled after my Explorer too.

There is one called an alumitone DB7 here: http://www.lacemusic.com/Alumitone_DB7.php and another one called the deathbar which is meant for seven, eight, none and ten strings depending upon what you order. Now I am really interested in the 7 string. I may have to get them in the future to try out.

Cool! I may look into those for a future project as the 12's tend to be just a bit wider than a 6

Gonna have to end up getting another aluma J for the bridge of my Jazz bass. The J I have in the neck has just brutally beaten down the stock pickup to the point where I ONLY use the neck pickup

Also, anyone knob the difference between the Deathbuckers and the standard humbucking Alumitone? More scooped or anything? Been going back and forth between the two for my Jaguar

I think I remember something about the deathbuckers working better with standard style humbuckers but I dont remember the deets and am at work where lace's website is blocked because our idiot computer stuff has it as "online music"

The only they have listed as different on the website is the resistance with the deathbucker being higher. The descriptions are slightly different too, so they might have a slightly different eq.

Innnnteresting. Gonna do some more research! I mean I feel like either way I can't really go wrong, but I guess it can't hurt to compare the two!

My buddy has some of the Lace Dirty Heshers in his double cut LP. They push quite a bit of low end and mids without being terribly muddy, but the cleans are little bit too fat for my taste. I've been rocking Dimarzio Super 2s in my main guitar for a few years now. I was originally playing one of those Eastwood Ovation clones with Dimarzio clones, and I was impressed and intrigued with Dimarzio's description, so here's mine: I find they push a lot of midrange when distorted, and they stay pretty bright when I roll off the volume for my cleans, as my rig runs guitar>boost>volume pedal>mid gain set amp. I found they felt a little thin for a while, but a small increase in bass and volume on the amp rectified that.

I'd totally be into trying other Lace pickups and Avedissians and some P90s if I had any random guitars laying around and free time on my hands.

Has anyone heard of or used Irongear pickups? From what I can tell, they're at a similar price point as the GFS stuff, but they seem a little bit higher quality. They don't have a billion models, but their designs seem well thought out and interesting.
Good Deal List: bearbeams, pena_55, sonidero, greyscales, ChetMagongalo, xchristophex, Monkey Boy, krautrocker, osbornkt
