Glad you guys dig the vid. I'd be more than happy to help anyone here get something put together. Totall time spent on this one was probably four hours so not so bad. My rates are cheap $000.00 an hour. I'm starting to get a little better at these things the first one I ever did was an epic battle with the software but now I've got it mostly figured out its a lot easier.

Tonight is my first show with the new band. I haven't played a show in a year and I'm nervous and excited. We had a great practice last night so I'm feeling good about tonight. We're gonna be selling our demo that we did all DIY. I think it's the coolest thing I have ever made since it is all handmade. I mean I've made cds plenty of times, but nothing this involved. Hand cut and screen printed in black and glow in the dark jackets with xeroxed inserts (cause we're broke) and screen printed cds.

I spent the day running my EMG loaded Iceman into the new Toneczar Openhaus and into my Beta Lead...surprisingly authentic Mark IIC+ early Metallica tone. I've been playing way too much serious music lately and it's nice to just have fun pretending it's '83 thrashing around. This is why I don't sell much gear, I can find a use for just about everything I own.

I think I've been waiting for an Openhaus for two years now, maybe more. I've given up. I don't have enough money for one anyway.

I knew someone would like that one. I've been listening to Neil Young since I was a young boy.

I've thought about the THR amps alot as an extremely low volume solution for me since the baby is incoming. I still may pick one up, but not until I know if playing at my volumes (not loud) are a problem at all. Either way, those amps sound all sorts of good, double as a good speaker system for mp3 players, and are small enough to put on your desk. They have a model geared toward higher gain, but I don't know how it sounds.

I want to get one for the simplified recording, acoustic and bass simulators, and the auxiliary input. I could take it house shows and jam along to some backing tracks and wow all the beautiful women with my tiny amplifier. They'll see it as under-compensating for something else.

Sometimes I clam up when playing in front of others. Part of the key is be really, really warmed up. Like, don't underestimate the power of a half hour warm-up even if you're only playing drone chords.

I saw Sabbath last night. They fucking ruled. I read all the bad reviews but Ozzy nailed it. And they played Under the Sun, which is probably my favorite Sabbath song.
That guy from RATM even did a decent job.

That's comforting. Brad Wilk isn't a bad drummer, as I always love me some Rage; but I always kind of questioned his fit with Sabbath. Glad to hear it didn't suck!

Speaking of things that don't suck, I received my 2 pedals from Travis (GreyScaleDevices) today. I can now honestly recommend a treble booster for massiveness/awesomeness. The Naga clone is exceptional for 2 reasons: control of the amount of treble focus and that grit control. If I roll the treble knob all the way CC I get a nice thick boost that still retains a bit of clarity; If I roll it all the way up and knock the grit down I get nice pretty sparkly sounds.

His Plimsoul clone may take a bit more tweaking as I didn't really understand how the hard and soft clipping controls interact. Overall though, $75 well spent.
