I use the SPACE and the Superego to get a lot of these sounds. The Moog Ringmodulator can also turn stuff into very non-guitar sounding tones but I've heard some promising Pitchfactor and HOG2 stuff as well but not quite enough to totally sell me. I also have a fear that the Pitchfactor has been out for so long that they're going to come out with something new since the H9 can cover so much of the factor pedal line.

I'm working on a video for Stereo Creeps. One of the local bands with very cool guys and a badass show. Currently almost finished up and I hope to be able to show it off soon. Not Stoney or Doomy really but I think you all will dig it anyways.

Awesome you guys got to meet up. I'm a bit jelly :p

I made a thing! This is still kinda pre release level shit but I think this is the version that will fly. Kinda not so keen on the volcano photobomb part but it was requested. So anyways this is for our friends in Stereo Creeps. Rad dudes all around. I was in a sharing mood the other night and posted a few local bands up on FB and got to wondering why they had no youtube content. I asked Sean and volunteered to throw something together and this is the current result.
enjoy. and critisism and thoughts are welcome. :thumb:

Kid got a Dale drumstick handed to him, crazy stares from Buzz, and played tag with Dale after the show. Awesome awesome time, getting to share one of my favorite bands with my son and then that kind of treatment by the band. Something neither of us will forget.
That makes me like The Melvins even more. I love stories like that.

I dig it.
AngryGoldfish wrote:I might pick up one of those miniature Yamaha THR amps. They sound excellent and are so fucking cute! They're a kind of cross between classiness and cute, like a baby wearing a monocle and bow tie. It would be a great jamming and practise tool. I doubt any of the versions have a decent Sludge tone, but they'd be great to play along to Russian Circles with the auxiliary mp3 player input with the Fender or Vox tones. The fact that it has acoustic and bass simulations is excellent as well. And of course the USB recording could be an undeniably useful tool.

I've thought about the THR amps alot as an extremely low volume solution for me since the baby is incoming. I still may pick one up, but not until I know if playing at my volumes (not loud) are a problem at all. Either way, those amps sound all sorts of good, double as a good speaker system for mp3 players, and are small enough to put on your desk. They have a model geared toward higher gain, but I don't know how it sounds.

POG2 is pretty rad. You can do so much with it. The H.O.G. does the same and a whole lot more if you're wanting a bunch of synth like tones that sound nothing like a guitar. Pair it up with a fuzz and watch out. Never played a Pitchfactor but if it is anything like my Timefactor as far as ease of programming and tone it is awesome.

That video is badass. Once we get some more shit recorded I might hit you up for possibly making us one. I have no idea how to do that kind of stuff.

First show last night went great. Lots of bands dropped off (there were supposed to be 10, only 5 played) and bad weather kept a lot of people at home but we still had a good crowd and an amazing crowd response. I was worried that we were going to have massive fuckups and make asses of ourselves but we sounded great and only had a few minor hiccups that I don't think most non musicians would notice. Gonna be uploading some video footage in a bit. Sold half of the cds that I made too so that is pretty fucking awesome.
