even unmixed, you can tell that this recording is way better than whatever other recording of your band it was that i heard. you are brave to share an unmixed recording. i would probably never do that, but this is really good. i'll be stoked to hear the final product.ridingeternity wrote:Little sneak peak for my doom room dudes at my bands new album.
This is raw, untouched. Pretty much brought each track up to where you can hear it and thats about it. Full mix is in process, set to be completed around the beginning of September then we will start "officially" spreading the word while waiting on master.
Shortest of three, and probably the most straightforward track of the album as we usually tend to meander through a bunch of different riffs, when the guitar kicks in, the first two passes of that riff are with the Pharaoh engaged.

Re: Post a link to your band!
Man the engineer on the first one just wasn't down for the cause...he was rushing us the whole time and anything we had to say about the sound went in one ear and out the other...and thats the only engineer within 50 miles that charges less than $40 an hour so at that point we really didn't have a choice as we knew he didn't know shit about the type of music we are making. So after we received the tracks that we were less than stoked on, rather than spending money to try and polish the turd, I just mixed and mastered it myself...learning those practices along the way. Glad that some were able to see through the shitty production, but also that whole experience gave us the will and drive to do it right this time at all costs.misterstomach wrote:this is really good. look forward to hearing more.conky wrote:

Thanks man. I think it came out pretty good considering how primitive my recording setup is. 4 mics (2 SM57 and 2 Audix i5) into a Fostex 16 track. Recorded the drums in a storage unit and everything else in my closet. I did the mixing and a little editing in Acid Pro. Dan Randall is gonna be mastering it and I can't wait to hear how heavy he is gonna make it sound.

www.facebook.com/StillValley like us, or don't.
These recordings are from a 2 track handheld. He have been trying to get in to the studio, but financial hardship between members has prevented that for the time being. But, we ain't down and out yet.

Pretty rad stage setup you guys got going there. I can tell the drummer's a Danny Carey fan, which is far from a bad thing. What kind of PA were you guys using?
The bassist would be the one wearing flip-flops on stage

His favorite band is Tool. I'm not sure what kind of P.A. they had. It was either a Peavey or a Yamaha but I'm not sure. I dunno how many watts it was but all they had a mic on was his bass drum and the two vocal mics. All of us gave him shit for wearing flip flops on stage too. I hope next time he wears regular shoes. At least he wasn't wearing shorts and a shirt with a big beach scene on it too.
