i love district 9.jrmy wrote:Enemy Mine? I recall watching that... a long, long time ago. Not sure if it holds up today.
District 9 isn't really a space movie, but there are aliens involved. Same with Attack The Block.

From what I hear, Elysium doesn't match up to D9 in terms of vision, but is crazy over-the-top-action to the max. So I guess it depends what you go for.space6oy wrote:i love district 9.jrmy wrote:Enemy Mine? I recall watching that... a long, long time ago. Not sure if it holds up today.

Fuck yes! I keep waiting for the Critters movies to show up on Netflix, watched them sooo much when I was little.THEBEERHAMMER wrote:Oh shit i forgot
I dug Screamers, but it's been so long I can't remember if it was really that great or I was just excited about the one pair of tits in that movie.
The Thing has an alien but it's shot in Antarctica, I guess the Blob and a slew of other movies fall into that Aliens on Earth category.
Serenity, Firefly, Farscape, Red Dwarf? (Never watched it but I've seen it pop up on Netflix). Masters of the Universe (Yeah, yeah, I wanted to be He-Man when I was 4). That's all I can really think of right now.
Good deals with: Officer Bukowski, Caesar, BriBri, Amorphous, ThePastRecedes

Red Dwarf's one of the best comedy series ever made. It has a great outer space feel to it too!

there's a big article on blomkamp in the latest issue of wired. it's in the works, but just 18 pages of scheming at the moment. he has other projects after elysium before he'll get to district 10. sucks, cause i can't wait for that...skip wrote:the thing was freakin awesome

also the only anime i've ever been into is akira. it's an awesome flick, i'm sure there's lots of other good ones out there, just not really my cup-o-tea.

Talk anime to mefuturesailors wrote:farscape was good stuff. But id just watch every sci-fi original series. I love that they have their little community of actors that they use in all their shows.
