Whoooo... finally caught up again.

Have been playing with a dual rig again lately and have found a very successful clean-wet/dirty-dry set-up with 90% of my pedals running to my Music Man set clean and one analog delay running to a Hovercraft run with max gain. On clean or dirty having one dry amp means I can run more extreme settings on most effects while still being able to hear not definition. And dry amp dirt with another amp pumping huge cathedral reverb/delay and fuzz is a pretty enjoyable sound.

About compressors. I looked hard at that MI because it has a built in gate and I like to run a noise gate when I have room on my board so I was into combining the gate into another always on pedal. But I ended up getting the Philosophers Tone. The PT ads noticeable sustain and the compression is nice but I didn't really use the blend or the built in overdrive. Another downside was the dedicated power supply since I already need 2 on my board. But the real reason I sent it back is because I had back luck and the one I got had a short or cracked solder joint in it somewhere. I'm going to try the Warden next (when PGS has a good coupon code) so we will see how that goes.

Cool to see another Canuck on here. Love that Matamp. Looks awesome even though I prefer single piece front plexi and the 2x huge, 2x tiny, 2x huge knobs the 6x big knob layout is growing on me.

That EQD Depths pedal also looks/sounds awesome. Since I've been using my Music Man again I've been playing with the built in vibrato on there quite a bit and have been liking the added depth it ads on super slow speed. Might need to pick one up, or maybe just a 20' long footswitch cable. EQD and BAT just do it right though, input/output/9V jacks on the top, good usable sounds... How many EQD pedals on one board is too many?

Fuzz and delay was all I needed for a long time. It would be nice to go back to a simple board with that setup.

How much can you fit on a PT MIni? Maybe one of those mini Polytune pedals, Elements, nano Phase, Disaster Transport Jr and a mini-Ghost or a Trinity reverb. It's easy to think of small pedals but harder to think of ones that don't have plugs on the sides.

A project that involves buying more pedals sounds fun to me.

I was able to cram 8 pedals on my mini including Elements, Pharaoh, and Trinity. Covers a lot of ground.

I'm sure this has been covered a couple times, but.....Anyone have luck running the elements as a fuzz for bass, how about the pharaoh? I haven't tried either on bass, but my bass player's talking about buying a big muff or something and I'd like to just give him something out of my existing arsenal to use

i was runnin the p.tone on its 12v for long tine
then it came up somewhere people usin it on 9v
just cause they liked it better like that
so i scrapped the 12 and use 9 ever since
seems i get more of that squirt out of it now
i keep it on full vol,full blend, full sustain,no grit
the treble i adjust almost every time to get the right whatever
but yeah point was try the 9v
and show your fuckin rig

I forgot to mention a comic from a few pages back but it is worth throwing back in. Tramsopoliton. It is awesome as it is Hunter S. Thompson as Spider Jerusalem in a future where basically anything is possible and he is doing his gonzo journalism to point out the flaws in society. Pretty nice commentary on modern society with enough jokes thrown in.



Also I did a semi bad thing after spending the money on the new guitar but I bought a supermoon chrome as it was back on sale after being out of stock for a while because I had a coupon for 15%. Now I really need to sell some gear to make up for the difference. I also have a diy tap tremolo pcb incoming from musicpcb which should be a fun addition once I get that built.

Oh, I've got the pedals too- was just wondering if anyone could report on experiences with using them for bass, prior to me taking everything into the practice space and blowing his mind with options. Thanks for the offer though!

running them through my rig, pharaoh sounds killer. Ape Blaster is also sick although D was saying Oni didn't jell with it through his rig. I think sometimes its amp dependent, he did design it with guitar in mind AFAIK. Tony has been digging the Oso and the "not a" bluebeard pedal i made for him. those have withstood a lot of challengers, I think he's finally settled on those two. lstr is decent but bit high gainy for my taste, kinda the same with the ritual, both sound great just not as good for my setup. I'm really keen on the oaths sounds so a revelation might be a good bet too.
This is all using my Kramer xl8, a more conventional Kramer alum necked 4 string or T's rickenchucker.

I'm sure the other guys on here will chime in with some more options, I'm only speaking for the dirt that I've hung onto and don't plan on letting go,

It depends on pedal size, jack location, etc etc. My goal right now is to have a Pitchblack tuner (own), some kind of OD (undecided and not owned yet, maybe a black forest), the marsh chapel (in process), a delay (either a carbon copy or DTjr), the supermoon (own), and my extra ISO5 power supply all on there.

Dude I miss the ghost disaster sooooooo much. I've been considering with this new mini board just doing Marsh Chapel > Ghost Disaster > Supermoon. Super vintage, super eerie tones for daaazzzeeee..... But they're near impossible to find now.
