But Spring Breakers just seems terrible, like the people who made it gave up all artistic integrity years ago. The people who made Gummo are trying hard, but just lack any talent or interesting ideas.Chankgeez wrote:True story, bro.snipelfritz wrote:And now to contribute, Gummo was just a pile of shit. And you know what was worse?
Spring Breakers

the Matrix movies. lame from the beginning, the "trilogy" seemed even longer than the Lord Of The Rings movies, which also belong here. at least they paid for what's his/her name's transition. but the (literally) underground rave was truly embarassing. i'm also going with Taxi Driver, which seemed compelling at the time but now is just unpleasantness uber-magnified.

Re: Overrated movies?
Yes.
Actually, I'd go so far as to say that film as a medium is quite overrated.
I mean, who really wants to just sit there and stare at a screen for two hours?

Re: Overrated movies?
huh. i liked the first Matrix. it didna age well and the premise is sorta preposterous, but it's a decent cyber punk flick.
um. i also liked Spring Breakers. it's bad, but in a way i really liked. and the cinematography was really good in places and they kept building a sense of forboding then not delivering and defying tropes.... i enjoyed that.
I WANT TO WATCH CHANKY'S VERSION OF THAT BORING ASS KANE MOVIE.
.... i'm gonna say it. fuck it. Godfather is one of my least favorite mob movies. i do not enjoy it. at all.

Re: Overrated movies?
Oh yeah.
Captain America was shit. Fuck that movie.
The Avengers wasn't that amazing either. Nowhere near the depth of the Dark Knight trilogy. WHY IS IT THE THIRD MOST GROSSING MOVIE EVER?
Superhero movies in general seem overrated IMO.
I feel like I've barely seen any of these movies but with these comments I don't really want to see them either.

Re: Overrated movies?
lol. i don't care. i like movies that are subjectively bad overall but have something interesting about them.
as long as a movie's not boring. there's just no excuse for that.
that's why i don't like LotR. that shit bores my butthole closed.
