Glad you guys are digging that beast in the field. I found out about them randomly through the doom metal reddit. I have liked everything they have released for their new album so far. But to tell you guys the truth, I downloaded their older albums and they are ok but not super great. Nothing really caught me like the two new songs. So I am really excited for their new albumb.

Thanks buddy! Actually its welcome back! Many many moons ago I mainly played a 7 string in Drop A. This was well before i actually played guitar in a band.

Yeah dude these new songs are killer, I will still probably go back and listent o their older stuff. When does this new album drop?

Does anyone here collect/read/buy comic books? I've started—bit late, I know— and I've found myself getting caught up with how expensive they are. I recently bought and read Y: The Last Man, Vol 1. It's awesome but I ended up torrenting the rest because I couldn't wait to see what happened and couldn't afford any more issues this month. I own around 500 films and 100's and 100's of albums but very few books, so I thought it was time to move on. Since I can't stay concentrated long enough to finish a 300-page novel, I thought I should give comic books a whirl. I bought Batman: Year One last October and loved it. But it only lasted the same amount as a movie yet cost almost twice as much. I can reread it as many times as I want and love the idea of gathering a collection, but it's an expensive hobby in and of itself. Is it worth it? Of course it is but I'll still ask.

I've been reading about that just an hour ago. I have it saved in my Wishlist on Amazon. I'll buy it next. I think I'll also buy Maus (like your avatar). It looks amazing. I'm interested in all things regarding the 1940's Holocaust.

It looks like the cd was just released and the vinyl is coming out soon.

As for comics, I'm not a big comic guy but I have read some of the "bigger" ones. Y the last man is really cool. Sandman, of course. Hellblazer is cool. A new one called Saga just came out and looks cool. Atomic Robo. Berserk is a japanese manga and you can find english translations on the torrent sites. If you like blood it has plenty of it.

I've been reading about this one called Preacher. It's supposed to be super bloody. I actually found Kick-Ass to be one of the most depressing books. It's weird. I can see why the producers of the film changed it. No one would watch it!

Oh forgot about preacher. It is pretty cool. It kinda wanders about 2/3 of the way through but it is still a great series.

I'm really looking forward to reading 100 Bullets. There are some incredibly interesting and inspired stories out there.

Yeah, that plus another thread about some guy playing in a mega-church...so much for the whole camel walking through the eye of a needle thing.

I was thinking about this while walking my dog. What makes Praise and Worship a different genre from Gospel. Is it just that that young white christians are too scared to have their music associated with black people so they had to create a new genre? I went to catholic school as a kid (I know, the born agains think that's some whole other plane of devil worship) but we had to listen to Amy Grant and other bullshit and they still called it Gospel.

There are closet racists all around. It depends on what your characterization of racism truly is. Is it a verbalization, a public declaration of hate and resentment? Or is the designation qualified to those who feel it in their guts and deep within their subconscious but choose to hide it away for fear of being reprehensible? We all have a little bit of that in us no matter how you spin it. Being exact about racism and drawing attention to it shows at least that you care, and that means a lot. I always have reservations about using the word racist or racism. There is always something more than meets the eye. It's not as simple as "I hate Asians".

Woah, mega moment of deja vu.
