oh yeah, for sure man. 100%.

It's just the 70's Vistas that are scary if you're planning to bring them on the road.

I've always wanted a blue vistalite kit. Or a green sparkle kit with the 24" kick.

Go to forums like diystompboxes.com and freestompboxes.net for info on common modifications on pedals like Fuzz Faces, Big Muffs, Timmy's, Tubescreamers, etc. and start adding what you feel those designs are missing. Sign up and start discussing things with folks. Maybe make a thread asking for a good place to start. Read about resistors and capacitors on Wiki to see how they impact the tone of a circuit so that you can more confidently swap values around. Learn how to read a schematic with online guides, read about Eagle software and designing your own PCB, ask around about screen printing or etching, look into a second-hand drill press, pick up a third arm for part mounting, etc. etc.

Her family and most of her village were killed by the nazi's and she only lived because she had been chasing down a stray lamb. She made it to the states on her own and made a life or herself here. I learned how to properly cook from her and although I only knew her for a short time she was one o those people who left a lasting impression on me and positively impacted my life.
The world needs more sassy Italian ladies, not less. :(

On a lighter note, I fixed my Sunn 1200s and its back to being awesome. The faulty cap was failing in a big way and the bubbling end was extremely deformed. I'm glad I caught it before it failed more drastically!

That was a lovely comment. You heard me—lovely!

I played a couple of Squier teles the other day - wanted to find a Deluxe or Custom, but didn't see one. I learned that I like a flatter fret board 12" radius compared to the 9.5" that the tele's have. That and I feel bunched up on tele boards - like the strings are slightly too close together. Which kinda bums me out since I generally like teles. But that Schecter has a neck like my other Schecter...so that pretty much works itself out.

Yeah, Fender necks are narrower than Les Pauls. It could be to do with something else, but I haven't had any hand pains now that I play my Telecaster more than my Ibanez AR100. It could be due to the narrower neck, or as I said, could be something else entirely like the neck pitch, radius, or other dimensions. You do get used to it but if you have big hands (I don't) then a Les Paul style might be more appropriate.

sergiomunoz74 wrote:Had it and I honestly thought it sounded okay, i didn't give it much of a try I thought it sounded meh and stacking it with my rat caused a metric fuckton of feedback at any setting. If that is exactly how the Russian big muff actually sounds I guess muffs are really not for me. I know skullservant had both wonder if he could chime in on that

It sounds like Muffs are just not your kind of thing. I used to hate them. I did so until Mark showed us the Pharaoh in the old Doom Room probably almost three years ago by now. That was like my introduction to good Muff tone. It was more accessible and nudged me into the rolling ball of Muff appreciation. :thumb:

skullservant wrote:The ARC Big Green Pi is actually loosely based off of my Tall Font Green Muff, I actually lent it to Aaron so that he could get the Big Green to sound pretty damn close.

That's cool that you lent Aaron your Muff for him to test and base his Big Green PI on. I reckon that pedal will only become more popular so it's cool to be a part of that.

No doubt about it...every single conductive component in an analog circuit imparts its own color on the signal. Some are negligible, others game-changers.
Skeptics like to say "electrons are electrons" but the fact is conductivity is not conductivity...and resistance as well as resonance frequencies can and do vary.
The variation....even deviation between so-called "identical" models produced in the same batch is very real. Especially with big box EHX effects.

Awesome and highly balanced comment.

When you can you should try and track that fucker down. It sounds like you deserved it, man.

well, it's likely still in portland somewhere, but the chances of getting it back are kind of one in a million at this point. i've thought about it though. i miss that thing.

Yeah, my buddy had a blue Vista kit.

24" kick.
Since the bearing edges on the toms were horrible, it was impossible to tune them properly. APPARENTLY newer vistalite kits are made a little better (haven't heard one for myself!)

he just got a 2005/2006? Mapex Saturn series in Ice blue, apparently only 50 sold of them in the UK or something? they're VERY well made, We took off the heads and took a look at the insides, friggin' amazing stuff. They sound GREAT.

The drums I've got are Fibes Crystalites. Basically the same as Vistalites, but seamless shells. 22" virgin kick, 16" floor & 12" rack tom. So, standard rock sizes...they sound massive, though.

I can vouch for those drums sounding killer and being in good condition. I'm kinda sad he's selling em but ryder has a killer set too, so I'm in a win win situation

A few days back some of you were asking about the Ape Blaster. I had some free time today so I tried to make a demo. It came out terrible but you can at least hear it. I need to invest in a better camera.

First I play clean, then pharaoh, then clean again, then Ape, then I do bit with the oath on as well.

Fibes are pretty cool kits too. PM me some pics and a price. I'm still debating on selling my SG but I'm definitely gonna get another drum set either way.

I was messing around with some ambient looping today, then I started riffing over it and I was like "shit yeah this is awesome".
Then I realized the riff I was playing is extremely similar to the SOMA riff on Boris' "untitled" & I felt kind dumb
