Re: The Doom Room: ILF Edition
this one you could build to a spec, like whatever spec you wanted so if you wanted an original muff scheme you could do that. There are other ones you could build of course 2 from other kit makers

oh yeah, i was just addressing his question about what's cool about the original russian ones and that i think it's worth having/trying one. this kit though, if i get to make one i'd want to tweak it. and i certainly hope that i do get to make one. such a great idea.

I dunno if any of you guys remember when we were talking about the Gibson Gothic series in here and I mentioned the ES135. I NEVER see them for sale but I found one today.

There is an old Ibanez Destroyer at the bottom too.

Dude there's 4 guitars in there I would love to have... All 3 gibsons ( fuck yeah on the 135, I've always wanted a goth V, and that LP studio is the only LP I would want thats not $3K+) and that 7 string ibby LP (I've really wanted to try one ofthose out for drop F tuning for a while)

Wait.... It's a deluxe... it's got a bigsby.... and its green.... WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU WAITING FOR!!!!!!!!![]()

As far as tremolo's for dropped tunings Bigsby have very little issues that I am aware of, I've always felt they hold tuning way better then jazzy trems and I wouldn't touch a floyd rose unless I had an on staff guitar tech.
Yep. Looks like this:

I played a couple of Squier teles the other day - wanted to find a Deluxe or Custom, but didn't see one. I learned that I like a flatter fret board 12" radius compared to the 9.5" that the tele's have. That and I feel bunched up on tele boards - like the strings are slightly too close together. Which kinda bums me out since I generally like teles. But that Schecter has a neck like my other Schecter...so that pretty much works itself out.
conky wrote:Sorry about your grandma Trey. I'm still missing mine after a year and a half.
I saw that same tele in GC day before yesterday. The finish on that thing is killer. Unfortunately, it was on the top rack so I couldn't play it but I was tempted to buy it on looks alone.
Nice! I bet it looks killer in person.

The Italian part of my family is from up north too - around Parma and Pisa. Not at all like Goodfellas. But Henry was half Irish, so he's no better than us

I'm really into this band. Way pumped they're touring and coming (somewhat) close.
Also, on the muff talk, I got to play a Green Russian Muff through a JMP into an Emperor 412 for a show back in January, and it sounded fucking KILLER. It isn't my ideal tone, but that doesn't mean it didn't sound heavy as balls.

Where do I start with pedal building? I've built kits before, but where do I come up with designs and turning those into reality? Can anyone help me out?

Re: The Doom Room: ILF Edition
Well I was asking not so much because I wanted a clone more like because I wants to experience the real thing that everyone clones who know maybe I will be extremely whatever about it and just continue with my rat usage. I like stackable pedals but I like the way that half the bands ever mentioned here gets the same answer for a pedal question: "they just slam the front end with a Russian big muff".
What's a cool price for a green Russian?

Re: The Doom Room: ILF Edition
i found my civil war muff for 120 on cl, but that was an outrageous steal. if you keep an eye out though one will usually come up for that price. standard prices for good green russian and civil war muffs are generally 2-300. the best deal you can get usually will be one of the early black ones in the deeper box which had the same circuit as the bubble font greens. later black ones had some circuit changes. if you've got the scratch though and can find a decent green one for 200ish you probably won't loose money if you decide to sell.
