...and now here's Guy Smiley with the weather. Death Valley California is the hottest place on Earth. It was 128F today but I'd take that over 85 with 95% humidity in central Florida. Bay Area and LA weather are perfect for me.

I know exactly what you mean. I remember taking a trip to Mexico where it was 105 on average. That weather was great, considering there was no humidity and a little breezy. Here in Louisiana we've been consistently hitting 100 with at least 95% humidity. It almost makes me want to move somewhere arctic. Or just maybe somewhere that caps out at 80 degrees during the summer.

Erm, Acid King is a big box LPB-1. Not the same. NOT THE SAME!

I've seen a couple different interviews where Lori said her main fuzz tone is a 70's LBMP. I can't see the first pic you posted while at work but that second pic is also from a show 10 years ago, her pedal situation has changed quite a bit.

From HCFX - "Acid King - Big Muff (maxed) One of the Doom Room members e-mail Lori S. from Acid King and asked what she used, and it is an old vintage Little Big Muff (basically a regular Big Muff with no sustain knob - gain is max'ed all the time), into a 1982 stock JCM800 full stack !"

I'm within driving distance of that, we actually go to that area multiple times a year with the kids to go to amusement parks and steam train stations with rides. Too bad i don't have 800$....

Ha, the cat does not even have a name, we just call it black cat, or maybe I should branch out and say gato negro.

My stepmom tries to call him Shadow but everyone else just says black cat or kittie or whatever generic name for a cat, an allusion to his feral nature.

and no, no one uses the n-word to describe the cat.

Re-reading that I was like "yus, that's what I typed..." only to discover that, fuck me and my late-night posting binges, I'd Mis-typed it as an LBP-1.

Anyway, for all those wondering, it's this pedal:

also, re-shifting pedalboard setup: When Acid King actually drop a new album, I'll start caring about things they've used since 2004. :thumb:

The same goes for our cat. We don't actually call her anything because we didn't have her from birth. We found her as a big kitten begging for food. She was so scared of everything the first few years. It wasn't until we moved to the house we're in now seven years ago that she started to come out of her shell. The fact that we had a very aggressive Jack Russell didn't help with her anxiety either. We just call her cat, catmus, kitty, pusskins, fluff ball, anything and everything... except the N word.

Is that a 4x12 COMBO?!

I also live in an east/west valley so we get all day sun. Like I said, great 9 month out of the year a little warm 2 months out of the year and FUCKING BRUTAL those other 30 or so days.

Dude, my sympathies. That's hot. That's keel over in the middle of the street hot. It's melted tarmac hot.

and touche!!!! It has been too long from them, def one of my favorite "stoner-doom" bands, all though really they aren't stoner nor doom.

So I was thinking I haven't seen any clones of that particular big muff. Seems like a simple pedal that could use a small mod or two and be really cool. I.e: a boss type 9v, larger input and ouput caps, and a mids switch. So it could be put in a smaller enclosure and be 1 knob and 2 switches.

Thanks Nick!!! Good to know this scheme is out there, this would probably be the first pedal I build if i ever do get off my arse and build any.

Well most likely this wouldn't be a great production pedal for a builder because even though its a fairly simple circuit the big muff has been done to death. Would be a fun lil project though.

it has a very large input cap already. I would only increase the output cap to 1uF but there wouldnt be much different IMO. The tone control is all or nothing, haha super dark or super bright. Might wanna split the 100k up separating the LPF and the HPF to find 3 positions of use, Dark, Nuetral, Bright as per tuned to your ear. I never liked full dark or bright on that kind of muff stack.
