I'm so sorry to hear that.
This is completely contrary to every experience I've had with Ben. I bought my skhammer pre used with a broken master power switch and he sent me one for free and paid shipping so I could fix it myself, and right now he's getting ready to install an FX loop in an amp I bought second hand that the seller is dropping off for me, and also letting a friend drop some swag and gear into the shipping box since its coming to me anyway. He's always been quick to respond and A+ with the communication and awesomeness. I must admit that 2 or 3 years ago his communication wasn't the best, and it would often take a long time for him to respond but as of right now I have zero complaints.
Yeah man ben was awesome to deal with id like to hear about what happened???

That's a bummer dude. How long ago was that? I had heard reports similar to that a couple years ago, which made me decide to get a big spider second hand, which then in turn led me to this forum.

Skip, you rule. You hate people so much, you're willing to discredit all human progress, its awesome.
I had him mod a JCA20H a lil' while back. And when I went to pick it up I hung around for like an hour just bullshitting, seemed like a nice guy. I don't have the head anymore. Wasn't loud enough for me, but was still really awesome sounding.

that's gonna feel like a long two weeks I bet.

Agreed. I first contacted Ben early this year about my amp and he was super friendly, responded the same day to every email, and even offered to tweak my high gain channel free of cost, just a great experience all around. Sucks to hear space6oy had a shitty experience. I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure Verellen has expanded a bit in terms of employee count. Ben has at least one or two guys building amps/pedals and another constructing cabs/headshells. He seems to have more time for customer service now days and he focused pretty hard on that when my amp was being crafted.
I've wanted a high wattage clean amp from him so badly...I'd be into the meatsmoke or skyhammer, but it has too much that I wouldn't use that makes it cost way more than it should, for someone who won't use most of it. I do love the design a bunch.

The head used to be Ancient's- I got Ben to make a new face plate to match the cab and I just recently replaced the LED bulb for a real bulb and white jewel. It's clean as hell. Absoultely no distortion unless you crank it, at which time it's all power tube distortion. The cab was created out of a need to play guitar and bass out of the same cab- it's 21x21x16 loaded with a Delta Pro 12a! It's quite loud for only 20 watts. I keep the gain on 1, the Master on 3, the bass on about 6, presence on 6, mids and highs at 12. Such a great platform for pedals. Hardly any coloration of sound. Just loud clean fun
I love the looks of these amps a lot, they're really really cool looking, every one of them rules... but this rig pic here is unbelievable, Evan!
THANKS RYAN!! For whatever reason I've just had this natural attraction to ebony stained wood for the longest time, and Ben's woodworker just pulls it off PERFECTLY every time, I couldn't be happier with how this guy turned out! It really does sound as good as it looks, and with that new white indicator light it's got this really eerie majestic vibe to it like an old movie theater that just RULES in the dark
