I don't see where the "trolling" thing comes in. people were initially trying to find out whether there was some way for you to get the Argentine--we'll call him Juan Peron--to the post office and get him together with the package, thus resolving the situation and allowing you to (hopefully) get your money from PayPal. when you blow up on folks like you did earlier, they're going to wind up becoming defensive and zinging you, or pointing out places where you helped to create the unfortunate situation. nobody here wants you to get hurt (uness they got pissed off at your outbursts).

so, IS there any way you can talk to the guy via e-mail and get him to the PO? or get the PO to release the package to him? not to seem like i'm piling on, but you're the seller, and you're the guy whose responsibility it is to see that the package gets to the buyer. and the only way you can get your money at this point is to get the package and Juan together.

first off, and ive already said this, i didnt want to have to go through and explain the whole story because it's so fucking nightmarish and complicated at this point.

for weeks i have running around, running this guys fucking errands, sending him this and that via email, and every time he comes back "oh can you do this instead, argentinian mail needs this instead'

it got to the point finally where i was just like, 'look man tell me EXACTLY what you need and i will get it' and i didnt even get a direct answer. i can ask the guy something 3 times, and he doesnt give me an answer. this is why i said hes got the iq of brick tamland.

and by the way hes not even argentinian, he just lives there.

moral of the story: be careful where you ship. thats it. ask people who are hardcore ebayers. they are very, very wary of shipping anywhere but domestic and canada, and maybe the uk, which is why i said thats the only places i will ship in the future.

and if what whomever was doing early in the thread isnt trolling, you can call it adding insult to injury. if you dont know the facts, keep your trap shut, because your opinion isnt worth a hill of motherfucking beans when you dont know whats going on.

and i am under no obligation to fill you in. if i wanted to give a point by point breakdown i would have done it in the OP. it would have taken me 20 minutes to type all that shit up because it's been a month of hassles, awful communication, stress, and now, getting fucked out of $600.

but hey thats what i get for not putting a name on a package :picard: :picard: :picard:

(for the slower ilf members, that was sarcasm)

love it when people read only what they want in a thread and then act like they have a clue.

BUT YES obviously i overreacted because i have a ton of shit going on in my life, and i cant motherfucking sleep for shit. which makes me not a very nice guy sometimes. especially when you start hurtling insults at me. what kind of response do you expect? hey, im getting fucked by a guy in a foreign country who is a total idiot.

so i apologize for being vulgar and overreacting, but the next time someone here gets rolled, if i came in and started picking apart their story and insulting their intelligence, where they live, and other shit like that, im PRETTY FUCKING SURE no one would be hi fiving me.

I could write a few lines that would probably piss you off, but I won't because all of this thread aside - the situation is pretty fucked up and I'm sorry and really hope it's gonna end up well for both sides... or at least that you're going to get your pedal back

good luck

I had a similar situation when I shipped two pedals over to Europe. I didn't get tracking because the shit would have jumped shippin up like $30 which is just stupid. Pedals went MIA for two-three months, while I already had recieved the other dudes pedals as the other part of the trade. I was literally going to get home and scrounge up whatever I had left in my bank account to refund him however much the pedals he sent me cost, when after 3 months the pedals I sent were sitting on my front door with about 40 different stamps, postal markings, writing all over the box, torn edges, etc.

Likewise I had a cassette tape disappear overseas for 4 months before returning in a similar fashion...

Moral of the story is, I think most of us here can relate to somehow getting screwed over by any and all postal services. We feel for you man, so just take a deep breath, relax, and know that there is some slight glimmer of hope out of the entire situation.

i paid $56 via usps and that did not include sig confirmation whcih i was suppsoed to get. that would have been ...god...i dont even know..a lot more. and the guy only paid 40 shipping to begin with.

no one has even offered this...but...in hindsight...if i had used a forwarding service domestically this whole thing possibly could have been avoided. maybe not, because of the guy giving me his district instead of his name, but id feel a lot better being in this situation.

every other time i have shipped intl i have always done it direct...

live and learn.

p.s. u guys know i just moved, some of you know i am about to move again, and thank the lord above that i put my familys address on the customs form..so when and if it does come back..it will go back to my family home. if not, i would really, really be stressing

In relation to his paypal claim, does the fact that you asked him for his information, which he provided sans name, not stand in your favour?

True, plus it's a kind of unusual case as well. Depending on how your emails etc were phrased etc, it may be quite obvious he was at fault. Hopefully they'll ask for records of correspondence etc before making their verdict. Or do they even bother doing stuff like that? Good luck with it anyway dude! Hopefully in the end he'll get the pedal and you get your cash.
