Ohhhh... and I finally have something new incoming........ :yay:

This is what the seller stated and Ben @ Verellen verified.

*It's a custom one off single ended class 'A' amp that is rated around 45 watts.
*It has two 6550's for the power amp section and two 12AX7's for the preamp section.
*It has an extremely low noise floor at high volumes and is excellent for recording.
*It comes with an overdive/boost pedal that can either boost preamp section, poweramp section, or both at the same for higher gain saturation.
*It comes with an 8 or 4 OHM speaker out, a "dummy speaker load" when neither speaker out is engaged so you can plug it directly into a mixing console via the line out and not fry the amps transformers because the dummy speaker load is there.

It was still located in Seattle so the seller is dropping it off for me at Verellen for a check up, and I'm having Ben install an FX loop and then he's packing / shipping it to me. So I basically scored a brand new custom design Verellen for half price. :doom:

Fuck, congrats Skip!

I'm absolutely LOVING my Loucks, such a perfect amp. The cleans are fat and chimey and to die for and I had Ben tighten up the high gain, get it somewhere between a loose and bassy Loucks and a tight as fuck Sky Hammer. The end result is crushing. Oh, and it absolutely feeds off any pedal I hit it with, just loves 'em. And so much volume on tap yet sounds good at reasonable levels.

I got an effects loop too, works great, one of the best I've tried but I haven't had any luck when it comes to amp effects loops.

Thanks Shannon! We'll have to organize posting Dunwich / Verellen Stereo rigs simultaneously in the post your amp thread once mine comes in.

That's crucial! After hearing the latest Young Widows I bet that loucks clean channel is beautiful, and good choice on the high gain side. After having the Skyhammer pre for a while now I can see where you could want a lil more looseness in the low end for slower / doomier stuff. Ben said this amp was built for pedals, the original buyer wanted a pedal amp with minimal controls that best replicated the sound of the guitar. Which also means its not a very forgiving amp, if you play sloppy it will show through very easily, but I love the challenge of having to play more precise. It'll basically force me to become a better player.

Is your FX loop footswitchable? I decided to make mine not, there's no need for a second footswitch when I use the FX loop 99% of the time.
