That guitar looks so badass, like it was saved from a house fire or something.
Congrats!

I've been about ten seconds away from buying it for the last month or so.![]()
I also have some info on it that may get me a much better price.THEBEERHAMMER wrote: Obstructures actually have a couple up for sale right now.
WHERE?
Message obstructures on Facebook. Last time i talked to matt they had two or three in grey and black available for $2200 or something like that. In the fall when i get to the point where im going to buy a new guitar ill probably take a drive to knoxville to check them out if theyre still available.
Dude i really hope you can make it work with that dismal. Im really curious to know the quality and general IRL vibe of their products. The seem to be solid value as far as custom guitars go.

Re: What is in the post? The thread of and for GAS!
Thanks again ya'll for reaffirming my slightly impulsive gear purchase!
I think it will work out. I'm not really a good enough guitar player to where things (fret size, neck size/shape) affect
my playing too much. As long as the pickups/electronics are solid and it stays in tune, I can usually make it work.
I'll let you know about the build quality, fit and finish once it gets here.
One thing I liked about this guitar opposed to some of the other Dismals is that it uses fairly standard hardware.
With some of his more creative builds, I'd be a little worried that if the bridge broke I'd spend the rest of my life
searching for a drawer handle that was made in the 1960's and only sold at "Big Ray's Furniture Emporioum".
Here is where I got it:
http://rebel-guitars.com/dismal-ax-muleskinner-msc-0-2/
I called the owner, Wes Bentley, and he was super nice and willing to deal.
I haven't got the guitar yet, but so far, he has been really helpful and professional.
He sent a personal email conformation of receiving the payment and will do the same
with the tracking info once the guitar ships out on Monday.
It's small details like answering the phone twice on a Saturday, giving me a full history of how he
ended up with the guitar at his shop and not just depending on Paypal to send the "official notices"
of payment and shipping that I look for when spending what I feel is a good amount of cash on something.
If any of you guys are looking for high quality, unique guitars you should definitely check him out.
He even STOCKS those Deimels you guys are always bonering on about.
When all was said and done, I got it for about what you'd pay for an American Made Tele or Les Paul.
Even though it wasn't custom made for ME, it is a one of a kind instrument built with top notch parts.
To me that makes it significantly more badass then the standard production models of the big builders.

I definitely would buy from Rebel-Guitars if I lived in America. They have some of the coolest guitars I've ever seen. I'm mega GAS'ing for a Paul Rhoney guitar:

Re: What is in the post? The thread of and for GAS!
I've been GAS-ing for a Dismal for a year or two now, and actually was emailing with Wes/Rebel Guitars about one they had awhile back, but never closed the deal. Totally nice guy though, I wouldn't hesitate to buy anything from him. Definitely jealous, MEC!
Good deals on ILF: too many to list, just ask!

Re: What is in the post? The thread of and for GAS!
I'm a little bit stricken by this rather rare but fancy guitar on Music Radar. I'm not a huge fan of white, but I do dig the looks. It has Bare Knuckle Mules installed so I know it'll sound sweet. It's £1200. I CAN afford it, but then I'd have to borrow money to pay off my incoming Dunwich. GAHHHHH!H!!
