Went and checked out that Penco. It was cool and all but $350 (w/OHSC) is not within my budget. It's a consignment piece and I'm sure I could wheel and deal but it's pointless at this point since I have more pressing responsibilities. If it's still around in a month or so; I'll make an offer on it.

I really dig that knot in the centre of the back of that Tele. Beautiful piece. Congrats, mate!

Fuck, I wish my Fenders had similar truss rod access. Neck removal gets annoying, to hell with vintage correctness.

Yeah, I know that feel. People tend to say "don't change what isn't broken", but I say a good product and a good engineer is always trying to perfect and advance his creations. Leo Fender got it 'right', but there was still room for improvement. The original 50's Telecaster wasn't perfect. It still had its fair share of problems, just like the Les Paul.

Yup, all my Fenders (Jazzmaster, Bass VI, and Tele) have that fantastic vintage correct neck heel truss adjustment. You can keep the strings on at least, just loosen 'em all and throw a capo on and it's not too terrible. The Jazzy and Bass VI are top notch, necks never really move. The Tele is brand new and def still settling. I imagine the neck will get more stable after it gets used to my setup. I hope so at least cuz I'm fucking sick of tweaking that one.

Lol MEC, that joke was so bad it was funny so no worries there. That guitar looks like it'll feel so good to play, love the rustic aesthetic so much! :thumb:

Btw, I also thought of some inappropriate shit to say about that knot but I'm gonna let it go this time.

Man that thing uses top notch hardware and electronics, such a great deal!

I have that Bare Knuckle Flat 50's set in my new Tele and they're SUPER! Def not what I think of when I think of Tele tone. They still have some jangle and bite but they sound thick and huge with tons of output, like a monster Tele. Fantastic!

I've also used the Tonepros/Kluson tuners on most my guitars (including a satin nickel set on that same Tele) and they're great, really hard to beat. :thumb:

That finish sounds glorious too. Oil, shellac, varnish, and blow torch. Yes please!
