We used Aardvark for lacquers when we pressed our first record. I can't for the life of me remember who we used to press after, but we used aardvark for all the plating and things, then he sent it out to the pressing plant. I have Zero complaints with how it sounds, i think my only complaint was (if i remember correctly) was that one of the dudes that worked there got in a motorcycle at the time and it pushed their timelines back. Shit happens and we weren't mad about that, but it took us a while to get a call back to find that out.

Thanks for the info. I'm planning on using United for the pressing and with Aardvark doing the laquers I can save a little cash. I just didn't wanna sacrifice quality in the process.

YOU WILL WAIT NO MORE

All the parts are here at my house and I've built one up now. It's perfect! I have to fill my dealer's order now and I should have more units ready to ship out to the homeboyz by next Wednesday. If you'd like to 'preorder' one then please hit me up at dirtydrockATcomcastDOTnet. The final price will be $159 plus shipping. Doom Room bros that order before 7/1 can have it for $150 shipped. In the USA only of course. If you live abroad and would like one then let us discuss. If you'd like a tiny bit more info you can poke around the the Electric Heat facebook page. You can see some pix and hear some demos there.

But please remember that The Doom Room is not my question and answer forum. I'm not trying to spam this place so please get in touch through the email or the book of faces if you want to have a lengthy discussion about anything.

DAN! Thanks for posting the Mr Black picture. This was the first I'd seen of it and it made me laugh. If that's the pic he kept I'd hate to see the ten he threw away! Might as well have the homeless modelling your swag. It's weird. Jack D is a great friend and I love some of his stuff but I've never owned a single one of his pedals. Any time I get a chance to hang with him though I go straight to this thing:

I could kill the living shit out of an afternoon with that thing. Very aptly named.

And I'm always glad when Serial Hawk gets some love! In addition to being one of the few buddies I really talk to about tone, Will was the first guy to hit the stage with an Ape Blaster besides me. It warms my heart to see you guys taking a shine. I think we're about to hatch a scheme whereby we play a kickass show together along with Lamprey and melt everybody's faces. I sure hope so :animal:

When I have a little more money I'll send you an email with an order. Hopefully I'd be your first Irish customer. I love being the first Irish owner of gear. :yay:

Jack Deville seems like a really fun dude to hang out with. Him and Ryan from Dr. Scientist would be cool to have as friends.

You're my only friend in Ireland and I haven't had any other Irishmen get in touch yet so you'd probably be the first. Which would be radical!

It amazes me how courier companies, even Government funded ones, manage to stay afloat with the shoddy work they do.

Also, that Goya record is awesome. Totally buying.

Yep. Sometimes stuff is stupid like that. I've had two televisions delivered that sat on my porch all fucking day - and they are in a brightly colored box talking about how sweet of a tv set it is. Thankfully I live next to cops. Which is the only time I have ever said that.

And Nick had a really sweet demo of the FuckOD doing the heavies. Which is a lot of the reason I want one.

FUCK YEAH DARREN THATS AWESOME EVERYONE GO BUY AN APE BLASTER THEY FUCKIZNG RULE!!

Also that was hella fun watching you mess with the downward spiral at the Seatac guitar show. That thing sounds so good in person, I have no idea how I would use it but its a pretty cool effect.

Also very psyched to hear that you got the amp Ryan/Matt/Summit/resident poet.

I love opening up the Doom Room and hearing good shit. Day sucked but now I'm all happy again :yay:

so finished up first rehearsal after 6 months...i don't think i could be happier with the tone of my gear that have acquired/replaced over the last 6 months...SG with P90s rule and the Sarcophagus was brutal, I pretty much used the Pharaoh side all night, boosted it with DLS at times...but i found that, on the Rockerverb 100 on full volume, i had to turn the fuzz down slightly and it sounded amazing - i now understand why people recommended LSTR for quiet playing and Pharaoh for loud volume. The songs are sounding really good too...a slow start but we just need to gel again and get back into it.

Darren - i had a listen to the clips...that Ape Blaster sounds great. I thought i was done with Fuzz...but now you got me thinking again!

I feel the same about Sleep. They've always been kinda meh to me. Much rather listen to High On Fire or Asbestosdeath.
