I think I have a fetish for the individual boxes. The different knbos, fun knob layouts, beveled leds, sexy paint jobs/graphics, colored leds, different flispwitch sizes... hnnnngggggg.

And the Console just takes all that away. Maybe they can make the carts look cool and unique...

Yeah, I definitely love the aesthetics of different builders, etc etc etc but I can't always afford their circuits, you know? I'm certainly hoping that they can customize the appearance of the carts though, that would be awesome

When I get mine I plan on using it as an effects unit for my synth, making a guitar strap that holds tons of cartridges, and rocking out chewbacca style. I'm excited for it still because I look at it as a way of augmenting my current setup with something that looks like it'll be pretty flexible to use. It doesn't look like something that'll replace all my beloved knobby, colorful, and oddly shaped boxes of delight.

No offense to Devi, but I never was interested in it. It sounds like a sillier version of the open source code pedals.

I think the idea is as cool as crazy, definitely fits Devi production line BUT I also think this has become a burden for her. Not to stir shit up but, You know it IS late quit a lot when the kickstarter backers are forgetting it already. :erm: :idk:

But I really hope it's gonna happen eventually - hopefully soon but rather later than unfinished like any new Windows version - and that it's gonna be rad. :)

You know, it's funny. Back in 2010 I backed a kickstarter for some lockpicks, and I've still not seen them. Kickstarter is an interesting beast.

(The Kickstarter is here. If you want an interesting read, look through some of the updates, then look at the comments. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/sch ... -locksport)

TL:DR: He didn't realize the challenges faced in getting the metal machined properly, he kinda squandered the money early on, and then had a mental breakdown. He's mostly back together, but other people had to step in to run the project for him.

It's a bummer, too, cause I've met him and he's a really nice guy. Just got himself in WAY over his head.

I think kickstarter is a fucking scam. Only good people like Dwarfcraft should be allowed to us it. Aen delivered and delivered soon. I don't even look at that shit because it annoys me so fucking bad.

Kickstarter is a cornucopia of amusingly terrible ideas.
It's good to browse for entertainment but there are so many "ehhh..." Kickstarters out there, man.

I don't think a lot of the people who use it really realize what they are getting themselves into when they pitch their ideas, nor do I think that they expect some of the ridiculous amount of response some of the campaigns generate. I've seen some really cool things come out of it and actually be followed through with, for example Obstructures made some machined aluminum tools and wallets and pretty much took a preorder of an already existing/refined product they had already created, just opened up to a wider audience which in the end generated a lot of hype around their product, and allowed them to do a HUGE run of both things
