They've been known to do weird shit but its mostly due to their shitty foot switches
Once they're replaced you're golden

I've heard about the foot switches and the DL4s just not being built well.

The guy had another looper that he used. Mostly I think he didn't care enough to have it fixed/look into what was the matter with it/if anything was actually even wrong with it.

Too right man! Like an old t-shirt, old car or old pedal acoustics are right up there with the "it's okay to be fussy about it" category. I'd tried so many myself and was never happy since I sold it. Even though it wasn't anything special, or expensive, or rare, or whatever, it was just right in terms of bass balance, top end and the neck was a dream to play. Dang I can't wait to get it back in my hands again!!! Heading toward my pretty much a dreamy setup with two Danocasters (about to order my 2nd one), my Epiphone Dot which I'll modify with better tuners/bridge/electronics (pickups are fine but may look at them too) and the soon to be arriving Larrivee. Need to sell so much crap it's not even funny though - never been this stocked up with crap mostly because when I was overseas I got bored and went a bit nuts with the PayPal  :yay:

Organizer incoming! Quite a few pedals (about 4) that I've been trying to sell over the past month sold almost all in one week. Gotta decide what else to do with it!

Mark of the Beast wrote:In: a Line6 DL4. Someone was offering this up for free on Craigslist cause it was broken. I gave the guy 10 bucks anyway. Took it home, plugged it in, works fine.

He said the last times he used it, it just made super loud noise. He included the adapter which was a Boss DC power, but that couldn't have been what he used since the plug is a different size, unless he jammed it on there (which you'd have to be an idiot to do).

Anyone have this problem with one of these?

Yeah, the DL4 adaptor is def NOT the Boss style. It's a 9V AC adapter with center positive 2.5mm plug barrel unlike the standard Boss stuff with is 9V DC 2.1mm center negative. There's several ways to power 'em though, used to run mine off a high voltage out on a PP2+ (OUT 5 or 6) with the DIP switch set to on. Works perfectly.

And yeah, the footswitches are the biggest issue with that pedal as they tend to break and they're board mounted. There's plenty of guys that'll upgrade 'em to the sturdy momentary style switches, DRASP did mine years ago. He can also do the "volume drop" mod and a whole bunch more. The switches are the important upgrade though. :thumb:

I was never a huge fan of the delay settings on my DL4 but the looper is second only to the Timeline. Love that DL4 looper!

in 2010 Gibson SG bass carcass
[It's odd what mods done to it... it looks like a evil southpaw had it's way with it; the nut is upside-down, they drilled a extra hole in it and one in the back plate.. also they sanded the edge for some reason...]
and comming: snagged a black bridge cheap and a set of tuners that I "think" will fit for like $15..
