naw, that's not weird at all.

i really want to get some kind of test-bed platform that i can go all J.J. Cale on with different kinds of weird PUs...i've been seeing all kinds of intriguing shit on eBay, Hofner and Framus and Teisco-family and Klira and all kinds of shit. i want one of those Ry Cooder horseshoe lap steel PUs. if i was to get one of those little Puresalem Duo-Sonic-oids i'd put a Höfner staple mini-bucker in the bridge and go batshit.

my love for teiscos
comes from a missed chance
on a mosrite ventures when i was 12
and my first electric bought as an adult
was a harmony somethin
real thin white sg shaped thing
with a wavy melted pick guard
teiscos are somewhere in between in my mind
i had no idea people were payin hundreds
for the roy cooder experience
its one of them things
usualy i see somethin get played out like that
$129 for a cheap shitass pickup on ebay
and i silenlty walk away from the gathering
but my lack of skills requires gimmicks
and the ubermicrophonicizm of the teiscos
takes noise to a new level in my setup
if i can tap yer database kitty

what are the most microphonic pickups
or just the craziest,wouldntuhthunkit ones

It was a venue in upstate NY that was being run by one of our members (Ryan Summit). The ?first? east coast ILF-fest was held there just a short while ago.

sorry for the delayed response...i lost where the question was.

the most talkative PUs i've ever seen are the gold-foil DeArmonds as used on Harmiony/kay guitars and similar imports, with the full foil screen. it's almost constructed like a mic, with a foil shield around a transducer.
