Jeyne Westerling was cut for economy in storytelling. In the book she sits out the wedding, goes home, and her mother plies her with tansy root to abort the baby. We are coming up to book 6 and people are still debating whether or not she was a spy set up by Tywin to make Robb break his vow to Walder Frey and if she is still carrying Robb's baby, the heir to Winterfell. Talisa was used to spark suspicion of being a spy by always writing to her mother in a language Robb couldn't read. Now we know that she was not and that Robb has no heir. End of story and we can move the story along without having to tie up loose ends.
Lol usually I find the NSFW bars to be an open invite for awesomeness ahead on ILF. Either there's gonna be boobies and butts, someones awesome band that they feel self conscious about whoring out even thought they are awesome, or a big ole detailed picture of a pedal or amp (or boobies and butts) that they didn't feel like raping everyone's bandwidth with.
This is the one thread where I know better. I shouldn't be here anyways, but my stream is taking a while to load unfortunately. Facebook has been the fucking devil for the last two hours though...
awesome signature with witty quotes from all you fuckers

I dont know man...they didnt actually show them killing talisa did they? I mean why go through the trouble of explicitly showing her baby being killed and not the character? Im not sure theyre done with her yet.

But like....she was breathing and shit. In soap operas that can totally still be alive. Either way i dont see much economy in reducing her character...

Rob Fossil wrote:There is no way Ep:9 could have lived up to a book readers expectations. I thought they did a good job with the big moment and the buildup to it, but when you're reading that section in the book, it's such a kick to the nuts because of whose perspective it is coming from. When it plays out onscreen, it is more just matter of fact and you're not getting the narrators inner monologue.
I thought it was ok but I really wish that they had played up the whole Rob distancing himself from Grey Wind thing a bit more, even in the book your like "I don't know if you should be doing that dude".

Yeah that's a much bigger thing in the books and it's odd that they didn't include at least a short scene.
I'm not a huge fan of how they've done that whole storyline tbh, when I was reading the books I felt really sympathetic to Rob because I could see why he'd made his choices even if they were a bit dumb, but in the series he just comes across as a fucking idiot and I didn't care all that much.

It's told from Catelyns POV and you really feel her realization that this is the end of the Starks. As far as she knows, all her children except for Sansa are dead and Robb was the last hope of the Starks rising again. She doesn't know that Sansa was married off to Tyrion, so she has to figure that after they are killed, she has no value as a hostage and will be killed too. As readers,we know that Jon, Arya, Bran, and Sansa have a chance of doling out retribution, but at the moment the Red Wedding plays out to its conclusion, you share Catelyn's sense of hopelessness.
great episode. i haven't read the books so it was pretty fucking crazy when that went down... when they took the newlyweds out for the bedding ceremony i had a feeling of impending dread for some reason. it just seemed a little off.
Did anyone else think the red wedding was....inelegant and ham-handed? I was pretty disappointed. Honestly now that weve seen the extent of jon & ygrittes romance im just like.....theyre botching everything but dany. I'm pretty fuck this show right now.
Every person I know who has read the books has been bitching about last nights episode. Everyone I know who hasn't read the books fucking loved it. I'm starting to think that having read the books is really poisoning a lot of people. My wife and all of my friends have been posting about how awesome that episode was.
I thought they did an excellent job with the red wedding. They set up “The Rains Of Castamere” last week so people would know what it meant, helped build it up. I loved how they did a bunch of camera angles from Catelyn's pov in the build up since it was her chapter. I thought they built it up very nicely.
The one thing I didn't like too much was how Roose Bolton said Lannisters and not Jaime Lannister. The show has been making the audience like him this season.
I think they had Catelyn kill Frey's wife to show Frey is a dishonorable motherfucker, like most of Westeros, which shows just how out of place the honor loving Starks are in this world.
There's a snake in my boots. Someone poisoned the waterhole!
