I feel like I spend most of my time finding crap for people in exchange for items I'll never use. The power levels are way off and battles are rarely exciting. Combat is usually either a massacre or you get slaughtered. Thing is, it is so freaking charming. I can't explain it. It just charms me.
I'd like to pick this up but I can't find it for less than $100. What's the deal?
It was a limited release at the end of the Wii's lifecycle and an RPG, so I'm not surprised it is expensive. I have a feeling the value is artificially inflated. Anyways, it is fun, but not $100 fun. The story is decent and it is crazy how good it looks for a Wii game, but there are definitely better games. It reminds me a lot of Rogue Galaxy for the PS2, with the MMO influence of FFXII. Those are both games I never bothered to finish, so we will see how this goes.

I,Galactus wrote:Ah, didn't realize it was limited release. That explains it. Just sucks because when it first came out it was $50 or some such reasonably inflated retail price. Now I'll probably never get to play it it.
Unless you decide to jailbreak your Wii and attach an external hard drive full of games. I did so about two years ago, just to do it. I enjoyed the results so much that I repeated the process for my brother. Since he has young children, it was a service for him because he doesn't have to worry about discs getting ruined by his kids. I just did it to do it, since I play my PS3 90% of the time.

Re: The Video Game thread
so I'm enjoying neverwinter it's pretty fun, but the crafting system is kinda meh
any new mmos out/on their way out that have a pretty robust crafting system ala ultima online/star wars galaxies?
all I'm really looking for though is a game that puts "made by ___" on whatever you've crafted so I can bring back one of my favourite character names;

Installing Neverwinter now, kind of feel a bit lame that it was taken me this long. I have a massive backlog of games to play now and a couple books to read. Yay.
Is there like a specific ILF server guild thing in Neverwinter?

Re: The Video Game thread
You know, I've never made a server. Like ever.
And does Neverwinter even let you?
PS The crafting is dastardly once you get up to level 8 or so. Starts requiring rare stuff that you only really get when you drop coin on profession packs.

Re: The Video Game thread
Played about 1h of Neverwinter, I might need to sink some more time into it because it seems to be 'just okay'. I'm running a Rogue/Thief.
I'm kind of balls deep in DMC: Devil May Cry. The level design is really good and the combat is fun, although the PC controls are pretty retarded and maneuvering seems to be a bit iffy and works when it wants to.

I've only heard good things about the PC port including the controls but I'm not sure I would want to play a spectacle fighter with a keyboard personally either. Got a 360 pad?

Re: The Video Game thread
Aw man that reminds me, GRID 2 IS OUT I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW THEY WERE MAKING ANOTHER ONE
So many fond memories of online racing...in a 12-player race, 7 of them would crash at the first turn after the starting line and die instanly.
And when we got bored of actually racing, we'd line our cars end-to-end across the track juuuust before the finish line on the final lap.
Good times.
