Side note but I set up for Big Day Out (festival in Australia) one year when Bjork was along for the ride and her fucking confetti cannons were the worst god damn things to clean up after. What's worst is that she felt the need to test them before the show began so I had to suffer the futility of sweeping a giant stage of fucking confetti twice in one day.

I wish I had gods, all the peeps I consider inspirational in my life are far too human worship in that way. In fact most of them are either take copious amounts of drugs or are massive nerds, so in that respect I follow their path closely.

IMA DRUGNERD!

Yeah, I'm not sure I would know what do say if I met them anyway.
Hasn't been much of the drugs lately but I count that as an unfortunate circumstance, they have been a fairly important and positive thing in my life (which is a common sentiment within most of my social circle). Mind you I say drugs but what I really mean is psychedelics (and Ketamine, Acid and K is truly a godly mix), never had much use for anything else. Most people are confused when I tell them I enjoy psychedelics because I barely drink, never been drunk enough to black out and I haven't had a hangover in at least 5 years.

I think the key to a healthy relationship with any substance is education. For example in any given year there is usually less than ten ecstasy overdose deaths in the entire world and this is with hundreds of thousands of pills being taken every week. There are plenty of ecstasy related deaths but they are all from either dehydration, over hydration leading to the brain swelling and resulting in a coma and overdose related hypothermia, all of which is completely avoidable with the proper knowledge.
For the most part there are a lot of drugs out there that are a) cheaper than alcohol, b) far better for you physically than alcohol, c) extremely difficult to become dependent on due to their tolerance building and general nature, d) are far more interesting than alcohol could ever be and can potentially be a great bonding experience in a group situation.

That's not to say that I would ever actually recommend that someone take a particular drug, there are far too many different factors like history of mental illness (especially schizophrenia), general personality ect. In fact if I could tell someone to never touch drugs (including alcohol) for the entirety of their lives and they would obey I would probably do it.

Sorry, that ended up a bit long. Just sorta came out.

for sure. i'm not talking poo about drugs. if an adult feels it's something they want, have at it. just be responsible.

i loved hallucinigenics growing up. glad i partook.

hah. i met Les Claypool while playing basketball with Fishbone backstage at a Lalapalooza. SO 90's.

only thing i could do was squeak out, "i.... i don't know how to TALK to you." then run away.

Haha, I imagine I would have had a similar reaction. Another side note but you made me remember one of my favorite memories from a festival was when partook in stealing shoes from crowd surfers to throw them at Simple Plan during their set. Pretty sure they ended up walking off early there was that many.

not that good. he's pretty short. plus, you know his penchant for nudity.

huh. i have interesting friends. this is my boy's CL ad for the extra Tonight Bjork Ticket he wants to sell -

"My Craigslist ad...

Do you like Icelandic yodeling over techno beats and absurd fashion? Me too! Good thing Bjork is in town. I bought 3 tickets, thinking my girlfriend felt the same. But, that heathen has been forbidden to attended. I will not associate with non believers. So, while she's having rebound sex with some guy she meets over in Casual Encounters, I'll be getting my rocks off at the Craneway Pavilion to Bjork's in-the-round awesomeness with my BFF.

So, if you want to get down with an army of you, I have a ticket. I paid about $90, but I'll take reasonable offers. Don't worry, it's General Admission, so you don't have to sit by me, and that's okay because I might get drunk before the show. I might want to fight you later, or I might try to date you. So you should pretend we didn't meet for the ticket/cash exchange. Imagine its like when you see your ex-girlfriend at the store and pretend not to see her so she doesn't start drama at the pick n pack. Unless she's horny, then you can bang in the bathroom stall.

Wait, that went too far. Just buy my ticket and we'll never talk again. I won't even post an add in the Missed Connections section tomorrow. "

amnesiac305 wrote:[/b][/b]Oh my…this topic really took off. I feel the need to step in here and let some facts be known before the mob mentality tarnishes my reputation. First, I will say that it really sucks that Tuffteef hasn’t received an ILF Christmas gift. I wish that wasn’t the case. I sent his package on December 17th by USPS priority so that it would arrive in time for Christmas. I paid over $40 in shipping to do this. According to USPS delivery was attempted several times. It is even written on the package that on 12/27 the addressee on the package was not at that address. I confirmed with Tuffteef that the address I wrote on the package was really the correct one….he said it was. I gave the tracking number to both Futuresailor and Tuffteef. Tuff said he called and talked to post office there. I don’t know what happened. Well, it took 4 months for the package to be returned to me. Why…I have no idea. Once it was returned, I asked Tuff if I could send to a different address and use his real name instead of Tuffteef. He said that was the only address he had. So I reshipped the package to the same address using his real name. I hope he receives it. Throughout this whole ordeal I have been in contact with both Tuffteef and Futuresailor. I don’t understand what Tuff now thinks I should have done. He knows as much as I do about where/why the package delivery went wrong. So saying things like “it was sent apparently and returned ages ago and its been plenty of time to try again im tired of sending messages and waiting 2 - 3 weeks for a reply that goes nowhere” is unnecessarily inflammatory and really kinda BS in my view.

On a parallel note, I don’t think it was a bad decision to allow myself into the SS even though I have a lower post count than a lot of others. I feel I am good member of this community and respect everyone here. Obviously, I don’t post here religiously but when time allows I do check in fairly regularly. This situation is unfortunate. Now I have spent almost $70 is shipping charges and this doesn’t include the gifts themselves. I am at a loss as to what I did wrong. But I also don’t understand why my SS was from St Louis and why am I SS to someone living in AUSTRALIA. My suggestion for next year would be, at least for international mailing, let’s use peoples real names. Also if possible when pairing up SS try the best to keep the pair on the same continent. I am sure Australia is a nice place but I hope to never have to mail anything there again.
Finally, I applaud Behndy for stepping up and trying to make the situation for Tuffteef better. I assume he is using the same address as I am, hopefully both packages arrive safely.

Long live ILF the best music-related community on the interwebs.

look there were obvious problems in the pipes that were out of both of our hands thanks to usps and auspost

I am generally not one to engage in these he said she said internet battles. Particularly on ILF where I think most people are pretty positive and really to do appreciate one another. However, these gross exaggerations (euphemism) for some reason really piss me off. Just to be sure of myself I went back through our messages throughout this experience. First, you say the package was “returned ages ago”..hmm....it was returned on 4/15/13 which is the exact day I messaged you and told you. You said “im tired of sending messages and waiting 2 - 3 weeks for a reply that goes nowhere.” I'm thinking wow did I really not check in for that long. You essentially messaged me on four different occasions: you sent a message on 1/11 that I responded to on 1/13, you sent a message on 2/16 that I responded on 2/19, you sent a message of 4/3 and I responded on 4/12, and finally you messaged 5/14 and I replied 5/16. Either you are really bad at math or you are just exaggerating 2-3 weeks waiting in the dark. Also this assertion “i was the one constantly messaging you to follow it not you doing anything about it ” doesnt seem to hold much water either. I messaged you on nine different occasions (12/31,1/2, 1/8, 1/15, 1/16, 1/23, 2/20, 4/15, 4/24) inquiring whether you received or giving you USPS updates. On 2/20 I informed you that USPS told me they were shipping the package back to me from Australia and it would take 4-6 weeks. On 4/15 I messaged you telling you that the package finally arrived and I would like to use your real name and a different address. You said the real name sounds like a good idea but you didnt have another address. However, you didnt tell me your name. So I messaged you again on 4/24 asking for your name which you promptly gave. In that 4/24 message you even said “thanks for stickin through the ordeal”. So again you saying “you got it back at the end of march and now its may 23 and your saying you just resent it now like 8-9 weeks later?” is complete bullshit. The sad irony here is the whole ILFSS is about the spirit of giving not GETTING. Playing this helpless victim is ridiculous.
After all that has been said I truly do hope you receive your gifts and enjoy and make use of them. I don't want any hard feelings but please let's stick to facts and not these slanderous comments. The ILF community is not about alienating others it is about bringing people together that like little electric boxes and such. Again I am sorry this had to get to this point.
