The idea is, once you've bought it you won't ever have to replace it or worry about power again. It's a lot of money to drop on something silent, but it's incredibly useful and worth it in the long run.
Yeah it was pretty depressing seeing that much money go just on a power supply (especially since the shipping was $60..) But I'm glad it's done, I've had to run mobius, moog and XP1000 on separate wall warts lately because of noise and it's annoying as hell. I was considering that Yankee PS-M2 one as well but Cioks has a much more solid reputation.
The CIOKS has more isolated outputs. That Yankee PS-M2 has a lot of outputs, but only five isolated sections, which means there will be ground hum when combining digital pedals. It's essentially a highly glorified wall-wart with extra features and decent isolation. That's a bit of a rough thing to say for something that's priced right and contains a lot of power, but the whole point of these new power supplies is isolated outputs. If you don't have that then audiophiles won't buy your products. The reason why the Voodoo Lab Pedal Power II+ is so popular is for this reason. The reason why musicians are demanding isolated outputs is because digital is becoming more and more popular.
Just bought one of the first batch of the new vibe from Mojo Hand FX from PGS. 15% off was handy—it basically meant free shipping. I hate the way the Mix knob looks. It's a terrible choice of knobs, but hopefully it'll be the vibe I've always wanted.
So I got the seektrem in the mail today, and I really like it and it fits perfectly on my board being all sideways and gay so it will probably stay for awhile if I keep using it. Its really cool making weird patterns and then not playing in time with it to get really strange reverb'd as fuck spitty ambient things.
Live your life like a tree.
