it's been a few years since I played the FX65, but I don't recall it clipping, and that was with an active bass too. DOD makes a lot of fat choruses. The FX67 (stereo turbo chorus I think?) was my favorite, because it had two separate choruses in it with their own rate and depth knobs, so you could do a slow deep warble with a fast leslie thang at the same time. It was pretty damn cool.

"without a bunch of expensive effects"

46 & 2 is so Boss BF-2 it hurts dude, come on.

And yeah, 46&2 just doesn't sound right to me without a flanger. I know that flanger and chorus have a bit of overlap, but that's not even close. Also,
<dorky Tool fanboi pedant hat on> it's funny that he's talking about getting the Wal sound, that track wasn't recorded with the Wal. Justin used a Stingray on the first few tracks they laid down (46&2, H. and Pushit)

AngryGoldfish wrote:I know it doesn't help too much and you might utilize the knobs more than I do, but I only the volume and tone control on my Sparkle Motion. The bias and preamp controls stay at the same position all the time—cranked. That would make seven knobs. As far as the Fuck, you could simplify it by getting rid of the bias or 'fuck' side and have five knobs altogether. Vol, Gain, Tone - Fuck. Vol, Tone - Sparkle Motion. If you use the burst a lot, though, like I do then you'll be sacrificing a lot for something that costs a pretty penny and is only because of real estate issues.

That sounds like a good idea but I don't think I could sacrifice the burst though. Which is why I suggested doing that to maybe the TAFM circuit as I don't use the input or blend all that much on guitar (I leave both cranked) and just use volume, fuzz and shape. I might just have to get a bigger board.... :grumpy: :joy:  :!!!:

I will point this out again that just between the death ray, ecolution, poly grace, and goatkeeper is well over 1k worth of shit right there.

As cool as EGC's are, you could easily get an SX for 200 put some decent guts in it and still brain a person just as good as Donny's former weapon.

Plus you can light it on fire and then write dirty messages on it.

Yeah, considering Donny got a bit of a deal on his EGC, I'd say he did VERY WELL on that trade. Same goes for Haki though, both guys scored some super cool stuff. Congrats fellas!
