Cruisin music, Sweet cars, Super summer!

Post by terraformer »

This will be my first summer of being a posting member here, longtime lurker, and ILF has helped me out a ton in elevating my mood just in time for it!
Im generally very reserved but even lurking here makes one feel very much part of a rad family and able to start expressing my inner fuzz!
so with the incoming
New QOTSA,
Just got a whole new guitar rig, (Jag+peavey classic 50+ svt810!)
and I'm getting a '65 mustang on wednesday (woo!)

I'm way stoked on contributing my excitedness to ILF and a hopefully rockin summer.

Post your; Crazy summer stories/ Rad summer jams/ bitchin cars?
I'm Jesse from the middle of nowhere desert U.S.
Been playing drums a long time and recently picked up the guitar, hence joining here! :D
Current rig is a 'VM Jag through a Peavey Classic 50/ SVT810

3-piece bass/drum/vox fuzz weirdo band that I drum/co-write in.

First reply to my first thread! thanks!
I'll take pictures of the car on wednesday when I get it, it's an orange (not original color) '65 289 mustang, pretty much like new after restorations! way stoked, it'll be the first car I actually got myself.
As for the rig, I'll upload one of the guitar and maybe my old guitar also?! amp/cab is at ye olde jammin space so that'll come with the car!

That guitar rig sounds sick.

A few summers ago, my friend had a Mercury Comet from the '60s he and his dad fixed up. The thing was a tank and smelled like an old boat engine when it was running, but it fucking ripped down the street. Late nights listening to Deftones in that bad boy was incredible.
I've always felt like Deftones were for night time car rides, but listening to them in that car was something else; definitely added to the enchantment of the moment.

Also totally agree to the deftones/ night cruisin vibe. Old mercurys are completely badass.

One of the great things here is the spring and summer when all the great cars come out.
A guy in a ‘30s Rolls stopped to let me cross the street last Sunday.
We get everything on the weekends from restorations, Hot Rods to the unusual.
When my daughter saw the ’70 El Camino with cattle catcher, Roll bar, screened windows and machine guns last year she exclaimed “I love this town!”.

BTW Mustangs (except the Mach 1 and Shelby's), Cameros and '70s Fire Birds are girl's cars.

I drive a Honda Accord...which just saying reminds me of that Monty Python skit about "woody" words.

But really this thread fills me with warm fuzzies. Hopefully I can drum up the skrilla to get my amp fixed and buy a new computer this summer.

And move to my own apartment ASAP. It should be a good summer.

Yeah, hopefully I can get a place within walking distance of the beach (let me set that straight, the beach on Lake Michigan) and chill there with a cooler full of brews and holla at babes.
