I did however build a nifty Superfuzz though!

With a really cool sounding 2N2913...

Thems the breaks people. I should be back to the PLL in June, or July.

Good luck with the move. Hopefully all goes smoothly. Moving's a pain.digi2t wrote:Sorry fellas. Project has been "boxed", but not in a good way. Everything is literally in cardboard boxes now, in preparation for our move at the end of the month. I'll have to pick this up later this summer.

Im stuck in NYC till Tuesday, once I get home I'm gonna make a layout to do a simplified version. i can't wait! i just need to order the right chips to test at 12 volts, to see what the difference is from 9 volts and then its on. From the bread board, i like probably 4 of the 8(?) selections from the rotary switches per divider and multiplier and some of the other controls will be trims. Can't wait to build this. I can't believe nobody else is reporting any bread board action or builds yet.jrmy wrote:Any of y'all DIY Lords of Badassery make reportable progress lately? Just curious, looking for my fix of sonic amazement.

Big "chip" is a TPQ2222. It's four 2N2222's transistors, in one package. The first pic shows a 2SC1583 dual transistor in the octave section, and the second pic is the 2N2913 dual transistor. The big differences between the 2SC1583, and the 2N2913 are;Woah, chips? In my Superfuzz?

I love the idea of this circuit and the others like it, but the PLL itself (or the Mini-Ark for that matter) doesn't tickle my ears quite as much as I wish it would. I say this having owned the Mini and having played a PLL in person. I won't say that they sound like shit - they're just not my particular cuppa tea. I think I'd like the PLL better with some filtering though.jwar wrote:Am I literally the only person that after hearing demos of this circuit, things it kind of sounds like shit?
